Before anyone says "maybe she just wants to keep her entire wedding - including dress - private"...

1. She's made her whole career about her personal life

2. Her fans are often young girls who idolise her. (I have 2 nieces age 10 and 12 who are really disappointed they have seen nothing).

3. Said fans have made her a billionaire and essentially therefore paid for the huge wedding!

4. It's been over 2 weeks since said wedding so plenty of time for her to have relaxed afterwards and then selected a single sodding photo to release

5. It's not like she needs to sell the photos for money

I think it's quite mean of her tbh. It would be less bad if she TOLD these young fans either "you will see the dress in my forthcoming documentary" or "I've decided to keep it private". At lease then they would know.

I think kids need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them. I'll never forget the absolutely sketchy and blurred video of Madonna's wedding to Sean Penn back in 1985. That's all we got as kids back then, and she was our total idol. Our parents just said "oh how nice, now go and do your homework". And we were delighted.

Kids aren't owed that sort of thing, and people need to stop the idea that they get to control everything adults do.

I quite like her, she can write a good tune, when it's not too self absorbed, is frankly incredibly media savvy, and monetises the shit out of people who are prepared to pay for whatever it is she's selling. More power to her elbow.

But she owes people nothing.

She literally cannot do anything right can she? She will be criticised and slated for whatever she does. She got married where she wanted to, with the people she wanted. As she has every right to do.

The people who think they are on honeymoon are deluded. After the wedding they went to the billionaires playground for a few days (Yellowstone club), then to someone else's wedding. Now Travis is in Florida with his bros and Taylor is hiding out somewhere else like usual (possibly Rhode Island).

I’m the exact same age as Taylor and also getting married this summer. Although I’m indifferent to TS’ music, I absolutely LOVE the fact she got married at 36 to an age-appropriate boyfriend after a series of disastrous relationships in her 20s and early 30s. Us adventurous millennial women feel so SEEN. 🥹

Actually, the original audience are older than me and I'm OG Swiftie. I think when I was 40 it was said that most of her fans were late 40s and early 50s, although that does make sense because she started in country music.

But this is MN where people said that they thought she was a flash in the pan during the Eras tour and then of course went quiet when it was pointed out that her first album came out 18 years prior to that.

I admire the monetising (I'm thinking different coloured vinyls here, for example). But you are right re commercial brands, and also the charity donations. The amount given to local charities at every venue during the eras tour was huge. Fair play to her. On the whole, she's a good role model. Who owes no one a snap of her wedding frock fibshe doesn't feel like it.

I seem to remember food banks in Liverpool got 300k, or thereabouts. That's huge for them.

Ah OK, I'm 39 and feel like I'm out of the age bracket of 'Swifties' so don't have a clue really. I never paid much heed to her but just remember on her last tour it seemed to be grown women not children who were very excited to be attending.

I don't know her personally. I love her music. What I know about her, I like. I don't believe she can do no wrong. And I do think most of her fans simply argue against the totally unfair criticisms and double standards chucked her way.

I'm 38, when I went to wembley there were people who were early 20s up to 50s, I'd say. I didn't see many children. I certainly wouldn't have taken mine.

Seriously, she gives fuck tonnes directly to charities (not via some tax-minimising foundation); she consistently gives big donations to disaster relief funds; she made massive donations to food banks in every city the Eras tour played in; she gives privately to fans' GoFundMe pages (it comes out via the recipients from time to time). Professionaly, she sets the standard in terms of pay, bonuses and benefits in the industry wuth the express intention of raising the bar, she struck a deal with Sony when she signed with them specifically to make them give a big chunk of the profit they made from selling their Spotify shares dircetly to their artists (and made sure it went to the artists as cash, not simply to pay off the debt they all accrue to Sony), she is incrediably vocal about artists rights making that conversation much more visible for newcomers to the industry, she seems to spend a decent amount of time actually turning up to hospitals and similar and making sick kids happy. The list goes on.

She seems pretty decent tbh, but weirdly, there are always people screaming about how she must be evil because she's rich. Enough already, find people to be mad at who are actually bad, ffs, there are plenty of them available.
