To think Taylor Swift is a big meanie for not releasing just 1 photo of her in her wedding dress?

Before anyone says "maybe she just wants to keep her entire wedding - including dress - private"...

1. She's made her whole career about her personal life

2. Her fans are often young girls who idolise her. (I have 2 nieces age 10 and 12 who are really disappointed they have seen nothing).

3. Said fans have made her a billionaire and essentially therefore paid for the huge wedding!

4. It's been over 2 weeks since said wedding so plenty of time for her to have relaxed afterwards and then selected a single sodding photo to release

5. It's not like she needs to sell the photos for money

I think it's quite mean of her tbh. It would be less bad if she TOLD these young fans either "you will see the dress in my forthcoming documentary" or "I've decided to keep it private". At lease then they would know.

Why on earth would anyone want to be famous when the pressure of even a wedding photo cannot be allowed to be released more than three seconds after the vows. Honestly I hope she never releases one, she owes nobody a thing and deserves some privacy for once.

Maybe a magazine did a deal.

I heard somewhere she’s currently on her honeymoon and will release photos / photo afterwards. I’m guessing it will be a magazine deal hence why guests are always required to not take their phones in for photos

They will be having a honeymoon and taking some time for themselves as newlyweds I would think. I don’t think they’re being unreasonable at all. She will definitely release photos, but she’ll want to choose exactly what to release and how. I’m sure she’ll do that after their honeymoon.
Her real fans will know this and understand that they will get something fabulous as a release when she is ready.
This isn’t an album/concert/new music, the fans are not entitled, as pp have said , the fans need to understand that she’s having a personal life and she will let them into it when she’s ready.
She didn’t announce the engagement immediately either .

She probably doesn't want people criticising her dress choice and look. It's inevitable that some people love to tear others down and she doesn't want that about her wedding .

William & Catherine released official portraits within HOURS of their wedding. Sounds like they didn't bother with much editing!

This sort of thing (plus the drone shots of her at a friend’s wedding last week) is presumably why they felt like they had to get married at MSG.

I think it's a bit like the thread about "what did you think was a common courtesy but apparently isn't" or whatever it was. Like I'm not saying she OFFICIALLY OWES US a photo just that it would be the DECENT thing to do.

Like if you do someone a big favour, you're not OWED a card and flowers (or whatever) but it would be a POLITE THING TO DO. And although the driver legally has to let you across the pedestrian crossing, it's decent to acknowledge that.

@Empress13 correct. It's much more important, as a historical event. So if anyone was going to take extra care over the photos released, it should be the future King & Queen, not a pop star.

Anyway, I'm not comparing the weddings and whether they were broadcast or not (relevance?) Just how much editing was done/how long it took on on the wedding photo portraits.

Have you taken a step back and LOOKED at yourself? You are a grown adult grumping because someone wishes to keep something private for longer than a fortnight, it’s actually really sad that it bothers you so much.

I mentioned the fact it was broadcast because that meant everyone had already seen all the outfits - it was a live public event, not a private event. So pictures from it straight away made sense. They’d probably prefer the official pictures used in reporting, rather than screenshots of the ceremony, or paparazzi outside the cathedral.

Taylor Swift may well want to have a bit more time before half the internet starts slagging off how she looked.

It's really not that serious. They will almost inevitably get divorced so my fucks are limited. Also this is just MN, not Newsnight, it's you lot who are taking it all too seriously. I'm just bored whilst the TV is commandeered with the World Cup in this house.

I'm not usually one to indulge children but on this particular occasion I think Taylor is being a big meanie. One quick snap should have been released the day after.

Lol, what? Have you ever actually been married or dealt with a wedding photographer? Most brides receive teaser images within days, sometimes even the same day. Photography is not “point and shoot,” obviously, but nobody suggested the full gallery should already be finished. Producing one polished preview photo does not require the photographer to disappear into a candlelit editing crypt for six weeks.

I genuinely don’t think it will. She announced the engagement, publicized the entire fucking MSG debacle, and has spent years turning her private life into a carefully scheduled marketing campaign, but now everyone is apparently supposed to pretend the wedding is sacred classified information because Princess Taylor has decided nobody may know anything.
