Hose pipe ban - neighbour doesn't seem impacted...confused?!

In that they are still using it?

Why are you confused? It will be either that they’re ignoring it or have an exemption.

I am not sure what you mean? If you're saying that you are not using your hose, and they are, there are many possibilities. They could just be ignoring it, or they may have an exemption.

We have one and I'm really fed up with it already. Soaked my feet this morning using the watering can. Dog is determined to drink as much as possible. Apparently there's no water shortage it's a distribution issue. Which probably means lack of investment.

That's a bit of a dick move unless they urgently need to clean a path for safety reasons.

I'm exempt but I'm still only using the hose to water my vegetables and not the lawn or other unneccessary uses.

We had a lengthy hosepipe ban last summer but received a letter from Yorkshire Water to say that we are exempt.

DH is on the priority list with npower as he uses a CPAP machine so I think they must share data. However, a hosepipe ban doesn't affect him negatively so we stopped using our hosepipe because we aren't self entitled arseholes (and we live near several reservoirs which were scarily low and could see the impact of using too much water).

Fail to see why someone being disabled means the can use a hosepipe.

Some people genuinely don't know.
Some people have exemptions.
Some people break the law.

You can't see how someone might be able to hold a hose but not lift a heavy watering can repeatedly? really?

We live 100yds from a chalk stream river. There is definitely a shortage of water in the south.

Cleaning pathways, hoists and transportation equipment are three reasons.

It's only on MN I see all this hysteria around the hosepipe ban. Most people are just cracking on as normal.

Reasoning being they are in 2 different water areas. One is ES water so no ban, next door is Anglian water which has it

You don't have to have an official diagnosis to be in that situation.
People might be annoyed that it seems totally random with
exemptions.

There is a lack of water, and it's absolutely not helped by labour building more and more houses, for more and more people.

You really can't blame the Labour government, as much as you are desperate to, they have only been in power two years!

Plus climate change may be playing a teeny tiny part in the flood/drought cycle we now see.

They're not totally random, they are based around statuses that people already have, do you think someone should be going round to do a survey especially for this? I think there are better things to spend public money on.
