Ooo, love to know what this is?

likely a gravity-feed suction hose and filter kit or a standard hose connector with a non-return valve.

intrepidpanda · 18/07/2026 14:03

You are not confused. You are just have me me me, what about me syndrome.

rainbowunicorn · 18/07/2026 14:04

shoesandshipsandsealingwax · 18/07/2026 13:34

It's only on MN I see all this hysteria around the hosepipe ban. Most people are just cracking on as normal.

To be fair, it is only on mumsnet that I see much hysteria about anything. 😂

Thelonelyshrew · 18/07/2026 13:32

Fail to see why someone being disabled means the can use a hosepipe.

Depends on the disability I imagine.

DollopOfFun · 18/07/2026 14:04

'Confused' lol.

Mumsnet, home of the permanently baffled.

Soontobe60 · 18/07/2026 14:05

Are you the neighbour of the person who posted on here last week who was filling up the paddling pool daily so was complaining that her neighbour had asked for proof for her being exempt?

You have a point 😂

TurquoiseDress · 18/07/2026 13:40

How do you get an exemption from the hosepipe ban?

Asking for a friend 👀

Perhaps you can magic up a disability. 🙄

Soontobe60 · 18/07/2026 14:07

Steeleydan · 18/07/2026 13:46

Iam flatly refusing to stop using a hose pipe until seven trent fix the leak on our road thats been pouring out down the road for 4 months

That’ll show em 🤪

Imagine being proud to call someone with a disability "cunty" for doing something that helps them.

How do you know he actually has a disability? He might be perfectly healthy, just feeling like a spot of pressure washing his drive.

And even if he did using a pressure washer what other people are restricted is rubbing it in and entirely unnecessary.

Not all of those disabled or presumed disabled are saints.

So yes , he was behaving in a cunty manner.

thecatdidit · 18/07/2026 14:09

Depends what area you're in as well. For example South East water permits hosepipe use for watering edible plants and those in pots. Look at your local one.
Pressure washing seems unnecessary, but businesses can still use them.

rainbowunicorn · 18/07/2026 14:10

Confused876196 · 18/07/2026 13:58

Ooo, love to know what this is?

It is just a suction hose kit. Usually under 20 quid. It means you can use a water butt or even just a big bucket of water to pressure wash.

Dollymylove · 18/07/2026 14:10

For some unfathomable reason, those on benefits are exempt

RosieBurdock · 18/07/2026 14:12

frenchnoodle · 18/07/2026 13:35

There is a lack of water, and it's absolutely not helped by labour building more and more houses, for more and more people.

Our population has expanded. People are living longer. Where do you expect people to live if we don't build more houses?

Oxo01 · 18/07/2026 14:13

Dont worry it will rain very soon.

How do you know he was using mains water to pressure wash?

It's perfectly simple, send them to disused subway stations away from sunlight until they evolve into a sub species of mole people.

Notonthestairs · 18/07/2026 14:13

Good grief, MN really trawling the bottom of the barrel with this stuff. "Rubbing it in".

How can anyone be so exercised over a pressure washer that they need to name change to start a thread on it.

Mygardenshedisfallingdown · 18/07/2026 14:16

In years to come, standpipes in the streets might become the new normal because of lack of rain. Lived with it in summer 1976 as a kid.
Needless to say the novelty soon wore off.

Same way you know he was disabled. 😄

Still a twattery.

Drive ways and patios rarely need washing anyway. It's mainly people who never grew up and love sloshing water about for shits and giggles.

ChillingWithMySnowmies · 18/07/2026 14:19

People with a disability do have an exemption, but we're still not meant to take the piss.

Something like using a hosepipe to water pot plants instead of a watering can which would be too heavy to carry is fine.

i think using a pressure washer to clean cars/drives rn is ridiculous.

Funny, Labour keep being lambasted for not building enough houses 🤔

I never mentioned anything about him being disabled.
