Wonderwall is one of the most boring songs ever

It's just the same note over and over.

Plus a wonderwall isn't even a thing.

This should be fun 😂

Personally I think it's an ok song and I'm not a fan of Oasis so I don't really care for it or hate it.

But if it brings people to the to cheer the 3 Lions during the world cup then I don't have an issue with it.

TheChosenTwo · 17/07/2026 22:55

I don’t like it much either Op, I just find it really dull and droney. The same could be said for a lot of oasis songs to be fair and I do like a lot of their other stuff, I just don’t especially like this one.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/07/2026 22:56

Just like the national anthem so stylistically on point.

MMAMPWGHAP · 17/07/2026 22:57

1000% better than Sweet Caroline though

Gettoachiro · 17/07/2026 22:57

Yup I can't stand it. A waste of air singing it.

Glitchymn1 · 17/07/2026 22:58

Never a fan of Oasis.

Nousernameideaaga · 17/07/2026 23:00

Hate it

RebeccaDecember · 17/07/2026 23:01

Prefer the Ryan Adams version!

Hollowvoice · 17/07/2026 23:01

There are very few songs I actively hate, but this is on the list

Heyhelga · 17/07/2026 23:03

For some reason men love the song. I have always associated the song with drunken men.

As for what a Wonderwall is, it's a word stolen from a George Harrison album I believe which is quite apt really Oasis's biggest song stealing from The Beatles.

Boolabus · 17/07/2026 23:06

Back in the day Noel didn't like it either so they rarely played it at gigs.

Denim4ever · 17/07/2026 23:07

It's not great but it's better than Champagne Supernova

DollopOfFun · 17/07/2026 23:07

It's absolute dirge.

I don't hate Oasis, I was at Knebworth yada yada but even back then, I couldn't stand it.

All the blokes in Ben Sherman checked shirts, standing in a circle with their hands clasped behind their backs, singing into each others faces at 1:30am in the nightclubs.

See also Angels by Robbie Williams.

Prefer the Ryan Adams version!

I haven't heard his version but his version of anyone's songs are better than the original, it's a shame he's a predator.

RampantIvy · 17/07/2026 23:08

It's a dirge.

DollopOfFun · 17/07/2026 23:08

I can live with the Mike Flowers version though

OverOrUnderprotective · 17/07/2026 23:13

I love Wonderwall. (I also like sweet Caroline..)

I kind of get finding some songs mind numbingly boring though e.g. I just don't get Taylor swift. I find her incredibly insipid but obviously a large part of my fellow human beings beg to differ.

Regarding sweet Caroline I think people love singing it because you can really belt it out. But then Wonderwall isn't exactly a beltable song so no idea about that. I hadn't realised actually it's popular at football matches.

Admarl · 17/07/2026 23:15

Probably popular because it's easy to get the notes right when there's only two of them in the whole frigging "tune".

I guess brick or chewing gum doesn't sound as good

Gizzasec · 17/07/2026 23:17

The words are just inane nonsequiturs.
"There are many things that I would like to say to you / But I don't know how." Yep, you said it, lads.

SqueakyFromme · 17/07/2026 23:17

RampantIvy · 17/07/2026 23:08

It's a dirge.

That sums it up actually

Palomiino · 17/07/2026 23:18

I agree - it’s an awful song.

SugarSpunSoul · 17/07/2026 23:18

I agree OP!

Admarl · 17/07/2026 23:19

Funny you should mention bricks and chewing gum. That whiney Manc cunt sounds like he's got a mouth full of them both.

Dreadful song. Like most of theirs. I’ve never understood the love for Oasis, dull, monotonous and repetitive. They were referred to as successors to the Beatles when they first started up. My arse.
