Wonderwall is one of the most boring songs ever

It's just the same note over and over.

Plus a wonderwall isn't even a thing.

It's ok when it's on the radio but hearing thousands of people, who can't sing, droning on and on makes it sound awful.

i don’t like oasis, don’t like wonderwall. I always felt so UNCOOL for not liking them. But maybe there are a lot of sheep around! ?

As a mancunian who cannot stand boring Oasis, I find it cool to dislike them. It has annoyed me throughout the world Cup. Much prefer man utd using a stone roses tune!

If it's England playing then it's got to be Fool's Gold. 😁
I too prefer The Stone Roses. They were far more melodic.

I prefer it when Noel sings

I think it's about being intoxicated and pretending not to be on the outside while your mind is buzzing.
Could be wrong.

I think the following line to the above mentioned

"Where were you while we were gettin' high?"

Might be a give away.

luckylavender · 18/07/2026 15:41

It was playing in the hospital when my DC was born. Best song ever.

Ian Brown is a bigger twat and far worse singer than Liam ever was though. At times this is quite the achievement.

Pastlast · 18/07/2026 15:44

I like it then heard it sung by the BBC singers at the Prom last night. You are right droney. Waste of some amazing voices. Should have done Mr Brightside.

That's your opinion. At least Ian Brown was in a great band whose songs are enjoyable. Oasis are totally hyped, they are laughing down their coked up noses. I lived around the corner from them, unpleasant.

whiteroseredrose · 18/07/2026 15:49

Haha. I like it.

I like most of Oasis’s music too, although Stone Roses are my favourite. Love Pulp too.

I don’t like what I’ve seen of the Gallagher brothers, but I still like their music.

Cant stand Take That music and the toy soldier suits and dad dancing are dire.

It's not great but it's better than Champagne Supernova

Came on to say the exact same thing 😂

Go Let It Out and anything from Be Here Now are also even worse in the boring/single note stakes. And shit lyrics too. It’s my belief Oasis wrote about 4 good songs and then started trolling us.

I think Ian is currently off the white powder and alcohol. The key word here being currently

I don't think there's a lot in it tbh.

RedToothBrush · 18/07/2026 16:08

The Roses did a great total of how many albums?! And then dined out on it for years. I think there may be a little hype going on there too.

And I love both bands!

What else would you expect from the most pedestrian band ever? 🤷‍♀️

AgnesX · 18/07/2026 16:10

RampantIvy · 17/07/2026 23:08

It's a dirge.

Exactly the phrase I was going to post!

LagerLady · 18/07/2026 16:12

I liked the thing they did with the comb, I thought that was quite creative.

LagerLady · 18/07/2026 16:13

Sorry it's scissors not a comb

Tableforjoan · 18/07/2026 16:14

Never got the hype around oasis or this song in particular. Terrible song.

operationplaytime · 18/07/2026 16:16

It’s awful. As is Sweet Caroline.

My eyes were rolling back in my head when they all started warbling wonderwall after every match 🙄
that was the upside of losing the semi final - that we didn’t have to sit through that dross again

Pabbel · 18/07/2026 16:18

I like it, it was quite emotional when the fans sang it to the team at the end of the match.

operationplaytime · 18/07/2026 16:20

RedCarsAreNice · 18/07/2026 07:39

I feel this way about Mr Brightside. It's utter shit

Oh yes and this one. AWFUL!!

Possibly the most creative thing they've ever done in their entire career.

PuppyMonkey · 18/07/2026 16:23

I used to like Oasis when they first came out in the 90s but now I can’t listen to them because I’ve realised how shite the lyrics are. They make no sense.

Today was gonna be the day but they’ll never throw it back to you.
By now you shoulda somehow realised what you got to do.
What the fuck am I on about?
Not a fucking clue, mate.

CosyDenimShark · 18/07/2026 16:37

I HATE Sweet Caroline
I don't mind Wonderwall.

My 16 year old DS is the biggest Oasis fan with an Oasis bedroom and vinyl collection including Beady Eye and High Flying birds.
I'm going to try my absolute hardest to get him tickets next year, I think he'd cry seeing them live. I saw them in the 90s.

He would be absolutely fuming at this thread! 😂

I'd have said Stone Roses too but saw them at the IoW festival a few years ago and they were absolutely shite.
Also saw Oasis in the summer of '95 in a big top tent on Irvine beach. Bloody awful. Liam in a cagoule shaking a bloody tambourine😂
