Wonderwall is one of the most boring songs ever

It's just the same note over and over.

Plus a wonderwall isn't even a thing.

OP posts:

I always thought this, Masterplan, Champagne Supernova and Live Forever should have been played much more than wonderwall!!

Netcurtainnelly · 17/07/2026 23:25

It's crap.

Dreadful song. Like most of theirs. I’ve never understood the love for Oasis, dull, monotonous and repetitive. They were referred to as successors to the Beatles when they first started up. My arse.

Yes, it takes more than having thick dark glossy hair and a fringe

MySneakyLion · 17/07/2026 23:28

Yeah I never really understood the popularity of Oasis. Neither of them can sing for toffee.

RaraRachael · 17/07/2026 23:29

It's a boring dirge. How on earth it was adopted as a football anthem is beyond me.
But then I don't get Oasis mania af all.

lazyarse123 · 17/07/2026 23:32

Total agreement from me. They look and sound like whiny, boring fuckers.
Droning nonsense.

roshi42 · 17/07/2026 23:36

It is so so shit. Incredibly droney. Oddly catchy though…! For a song that, as OP said, has all of 3 notes in it.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 17/07/2026 23:37

First two albums were great at the time. I stopped after that. But Wonderwall is one of the least inspiring. I do love a nostalgic blast of Cigarettes & Alcohol and Slide Away in the car tho.

SqueakyFromme · 17/07/2026 23:42

@DollopOfFun oh no has that happened? I would be so embarrassed to witness that 🙈

foodforthought81 · 17/07/2026 23:43

As an additional Oasis fan, wonderwall fine by me.

I’m sure you wouldn’t want let loose crazy for you which only reached no 2 due to prolonged wet wet wet - love is all around 94 sticking in the charts. All same time in 90’s.

deepseaargyllfish · 17/07/2026 23:45

Hate it too. Stupid, meaningless lyrics, a dreary rhythm , not much instrumentation, unmusical singing.

Thepossibility · 18/07/2026 00:23

Thank you! I've never understood the love for it but thought it must be me, everyone else belts it out with such joy. It actually sounds to me like the singer is deadpan and bored the whole way through and the music is basic.

PaperFlyingFucks · 18/07/2026 00:27

Hate it.

dirtytiles · 18/07/2026 06:20

It’s easy to sing along too.

HoraceCope · 18/07/2026 06:23

i hate it so much

flutterby1 · 18/07/2026 06:24

i don’t like oasis, don’t like wonderwall. I always felt so UNCOOL for not liking them. But maybe there are a lot of sheep around! ?

dirtytiles · 18/07/2026 06:26

I don’t think whether you like Oasis or not makes you a sheep? I’m not particularly into them but I quite like Taylor Swift so presumably as she’s popular I’m a 🐑

hattie43 · 18/07/2026 06:57

No that mantle goes to mull of kintyre

grinandslothit · 18/07/2026 07:10

It is a strange song and the way they drone on makes it sound off key

Hideouslyhot · 18/07/2026 07:26

It’s dire.

SakuraTea · 18/07/2026 07:26

I always assumed people just like it because even a really bad singer can drone sing along

The lyrics are inane and the "tune" is dire

lovecotswoldsliving · 18/07/2026 07:30

Another goody post.
Hasn’t it always been, that people like different types of music?
Having seen Oasis in Wembley last year I can assure you they were brilliant. And all the millions of people who lost out on tickets shows just how many people like their music.

Glowglowdancer · 18/07/2026 07:31

Its an easy song to sing in terms of singalongability.

The one I hate is Celebration. It always makes me feel depressed 😂

Glowglowdancer · 18/07/2026 07:32

Oh never understood why Sweet Caroline gets people going either.

My favourite drunken pub singalong song is the Proclaimers one

Lumpycat · 18/07/2026 07:34

Slowly walking down the hall. Faster than a cannonball. Deep.
