Aibu thinking Scots shouldn't be wanting Argentina to win against England?

I know plenty of Scots agree with me.

I'm half Scottish (dad) so always support both. In the past I'd probably want Scotland to win if it was them against England to be honest. Although now because of the Argentina support I'm going off supporting Scotland.

I desperately want England to win this one more than against any other team.

If it was Wales, Scotland, N Ireland or ROI against any country who isn't England, then I definitely would support them.

Or if it was Ireland against Wales for example I would support Ireland as DH is Irish.

DH is supporting England in the world cup, the only time he doesn't support England is if Ireland were playing.

Im Scottish and supporting England against Argentina, they’ve got a chance this round. Ithink France will win in the final. I’d love it if England did win overall though.

People can support who they like though, it doesn’t have to be the country you live in or your nearest neighbours.

People should be allowed to support who they want.

I didn’t see much support from England when Scotland was playing. In fact, they seemed to be particularly pissed off that the Scottish fans were so well loved in Boston, much of the commentary was about how Scotland didn’t deserve to be there and to enjoy it whilst the could as they would be kicked out quickly. The support they whine about only ever goes one way.

I’m half English, and usually would support them, but I was rooting for Norway. England’s win didn’t reflect the quality of their game. When their own manager pointed that out, the fans, led by Bellingham, refused to accept that. That’s why I find I’m less keen to support them now, there is an arrogance and entitlement that goes along with them in all sports. Mon the Argies!

I expect Wales will support Argentina. Deep roots.

I agree. I'm half Scottish/English, living in Scotland after growing up in England. Scotland aren't even in the World Cup now so supporting the opposition is just a bit lame!

I can't honestly care. It doesn't affect or upset me in any way, and I'm an England supporter.

DH is Scottish and was rooting for Scotland until they went out, as was I. He's now rooting for England, but it would not bother me particularly if he was going for Argentina. I'd think he was a bit childish, because it just seems to be done to wind people up. But I also find it a bit childish to care.

Let people support who they want.

When Wales are in a competition it doesn't cross my mind who English people are supporting. I don't care, they can support who they like. Why do you care? What do you mean, "beyond banter"? You think England are entitled to the support of the other home nations why exactly? It's a game of football. The fun is in the rivalry.

Yeah I nearly jumped in there too, someone doesn't understand how the Block Grant works obviously. We're owed a fair amount ourselves FROM England because of HS2 which we helped pay for and doesn't remotely benefit us. But if I mention it then people go on about how Wales gets more per head from the Barnett Formula than England does... not remotely understanding how doing it per head of population is bloody stupid and doesn't work. Even Barnett was embarrassed by it...

To be honest I don't care who they support. If supporting other teams makes them happy. That's fine.
