I know plenty of Scots agree with me.

I'm half Scottish (dad) so always support both. In the past I'd probably want Scotland to win if it was them against England to be honest. Although now because of the Argentina support I'm going off supporting Scotland.

I desperately want England to win this one more than against any other team.

Which is why I want Argentina to lose against whoever they play.

Well against Spain I don’t care which of them wins as it’s lose lose for me.

I’m Scottish but also have English heritage and I like England. I always cheer them on. But I don’t mind Argentina. I like Messi. I do want England to win but equally I don’t think it’s “wrong” for people to support Argentina, I’m not sure what a war which occurred before any of the current squad was even born has to do with the players

I see an Argie politician has started that again. It’s bonkers to me that Arhentina is laying claim to a territory that has been British from before Arhentina even existed!

I don't really care about the football or any sport but it's always amusing to see England get knocked out after they puff and hype themselves up, then witness the sheer shock and confusion on the faces of the English pundits. I must say it gives me a giggle. If they somehow happen to win I won't give any of it a second thought.

And before anyone gets cross or thinks I'm being horrible its only a silly wee game people take far to seriously, men running about a patch of grass, kicking a ball into a net. I wouldn't be happy if anything actually bad happened to England or English people, getting knocked out the world cup is on the same level as losing a game of monopoly, its just not that important.

What do you mean England keeps the union going? Scotland had the chance to leave and voted against it.

As a Scot, I genuinely couldn't care less whether people outside Scotland support Scotland, support Scotland's opponents, or take no interest at all. It makes no difference to anything.

Maybe because I'm half Scottish? My English friends probably couldn't give a toss? I haven't asked them. My ds who loves football couldn't care less. Dh doesn't even like the world cup.

I do get strangely stressed about England games for some reason. And I don't really follow football usually. I really wanted Scotland to get further too.

Maybe just watch and listen to how the Scotland team were mocked before and during their World Cup games. Look at how some English supporters behaved in Boston after Scotland left, slagging Scotland off.

I couldn’t care less about football, but it genuinely annoys me how much England fans expect Scotland to root for them in the games, are you honestly saying when Scotland were playing that all English fans were hoping Scotland would win or were they supporting anyone but Scotland?

I feel annoyed at it, if Scotland had been in our position I would have been celebrating their wins, like I’m sure a lot of others would.

For the Irish, Welsh and Scottish it will always be anyone but England. Something to do with history.

I do find it funny that the English usually want the Irish, Welsh and Scottish to do well.
