AIBU to wear a floral dress my brother's girlfriend calls white to their wedding?

My brother is getting married in three weeks and I’ve bought a fairly expensive dress for his wedding. His gf saw my dress and said she thought it was inappropriate because she claims it’s white. The reality is that it’s not white, it has a red and green floral pattern. I don’t really have time to find a new dress but my brother keeps asking me if I’ve found something new, saying he and his gf are worried other guests will talk about me behind my back if I show up wearing something white (it’s not white!!). I think it’s so rude that they’re trying to police what I wear, especially when they know I had to call off my wedding last year and he’s my brother so I should get to wear something special to his wedding!

And just for the heck of I spent just 5 mins to find a floral dress for a wedding guest. None are white or on a white background.

God if I was the bride this would have give me a glimpse of the future with my in laws and I’d run for the hills!

You started a thread about your SIL's concern that your dress for her wedding might be inappropriate, yes? Yet you don't get why it might be helpful to show us the actual dress?

Let me guess you are wanting to wear the dress you picked for your wedding and the similar one was a matching bridesmaid dress. Yes completely inappropriate.

LOL, no it’s not. It’s not any way, shape, or form your mum’s wedding. If she has gifted them items for their wedding that’s an entirely normal thing for a parent to do. It doesn’t mean they get input into the day…because it is literally not her day.

Because many posters asked to see a photo so they could give you a more informed opinion on whether the dress is appropriate, this has to be a wind-up. Why else wouldn't the OP post a picture? Definitely just wants to have fun winding people up.
