WIBU to work from home to go to the beach?

I live near the beach. Usually can't wfh but occasionally I can e.g. if I am getting work done at home or have an appointment. Would it be unreasonable to ask to wfh for the day tomorrow so I can go to the beach at lunchtime? I might stay out a little longer but will have my phone/laptop with me.

I will enjoy today, thanks! Please try to enjoy your day too and put all worrying thoughts of my working arrangements out of your mind.

it's amazing! nice that you can do the same, sadly without being paid.

What a 180 this Op has done. Gone from… no intention of taking the piss and this would be just over your lunch break, to now relishing taking the piss by not working when meant to be wfh and getting paid for it. Awful stuff

Omg I was being sarcy in response to a sarcy poster. I probably work 50-60 hours a week, I’m contracted to work 40. Relax.

Right. All very silly. What a way to have wasted work time… making up a day that had no resemblance to your actual day.

Mind you, given you seemed unsure about the morality around lying - maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised!

I will leave you to make up more nonsense on other threads under a different user name then

Nah. It was more you lying to your employer about why you needed to work from home….

Making up all the crap today.

That too
but having read the OP’s posts - it went from knowing her employer would say no and absolutely having to lie about an appointment.

To then just saying that she needed to do some bits around the house and her employer was fine with it.

Radicalrach · 06/07/2026 20:13

I have asked to wfh tomorrow as I have an appointment. I've been told that's fine.

but also

I literally just said ‘can I work from home tomorrow as I have some bits to get done around the house’. The answer was yes.

The person whose comments have disappeared was being sarcastic so I responded in kind

To be clear we’re still talking about what happened 3 weeks ago? I can’t believe you’re so upset about this?

It does appear so, at least you can count so that’s a plus for your employer.
not upset at all, enjoying replying on here to be fair.

shame you don’t morally realise it was wrong.

just carry on with your rather horrible and spiteful replies to people on here, hope that makes you feel happy and proud.

end of the day you are a confirmed lier, do you do this in general?

I have

and your response was that you didn’t really think about what you said, you didn’t have a script

anyway I will do as the majority did on this thread - concur you’re very comfortable with lying to your employer and even on your own thread and you’re bloody weird
