Far right men thinking they’re sorting everything out with their riots to protect the women. Maybe women should riot about just men.

I just don’t see how men burning buses and cars and being violent about other men being violent who are a different colour is really that productive in stopping men, in general, being violent

And a certain percentage of them go home and beat up their wives and partners.

It isn’t productive, it’s bloody stupid, violent and dangerous.

I've recently taken out a subscription to my local paper. It includes good old-fashioned court reporting.

My god it's depressing.

Obviously the paper will pick and choose what to bother including, but the amount of really savage domestic violence... Day after day...

It's the mainstay of their court column. Often drink and/or drugs involved. The men (its mostly men) either promising that though they've a 15 year history of violence they're now going to reform; or they're being defiant and vile to officers and the court.

Theoretically I knew this was out there, but it's draining to read detailed daily accounts. How the police and court officer keep going – never mind the victims... It's relentless.

Props to anyone working at the sharp end of this each day.

Yes the common denominator is that a large number, vast majority of perpetrators are male. Some are white, some black, some brown. Some came over with William the conqueror, some last week.

There is a problem.
It did not start last week, last year or last decade.

Let's look for solutions. It will not be sorted on a week, a month or a year. If only.

We as women are more likely to be the sole parent, the teacher, the social worker, the lawyer, the journalist, the broadcaster etc - how can we as women start to act in cohesion to effect change.

There was a heartbreaking documentary on the Taliban on BBC iPlayer which has now disappeared.

Camps of women are kept imprisoned, for incredibly minor offences. They have to look at the floor, they’re not allowed to speak. They exist in silence, with no mental stimulation or life at all - just sitting in silence, eating and sleeping. Surrounded by men with guns who probably do fuck knows what to them when the cameras are not on.

They allowed the camera crew to briefly interview one woman who managed to get a couple of minutes out of earshot. She was begging - begging - for help. The urgency in her voice and tears in her eyes were harrowing. After a moment one of the ‘guards’ notices she’s there and ushers her away, just as she replaces her veil and says ‘we’re fine, our Taliban brothers are good to us’.

I agree these crrimes are commited by men. And I think ANY man who commits such crimes should be punished regardless of fucking race or ethnicity.

And yes I'm sorry for all the people out there who don't want to admit it but...THAT INCLUDES WHITE BRITISH MEN!!! I'm sick of seeing them get off lightly, had excuses made for them etc. I mean look at America?! Their president is a goddamn criminal. And named more times in the damn files than jesus was mentioned in the bible...and yet..meta away with his crimes scott free. Would he if he wasn't a rich white man?! 🤔 Any time a white man is accused of or hell actually found guilty of a crime there are a million comments defending them? I mean if we are going down the route of blaming an entire demographic for a proper toon of crimes (as is clearly happening) maybe don't focus on race but the actual common denominator that they are mostly men..?

Take race out of the equation. Start acting on EVERY man that is a danger to women and children. You could removed every migrant man from this country and guess what, we would STILL have a huge issue with violence against women and girls.

(And for the record before anyone brings up some thing of "but how would you feel if you were at risk) the 2x I've been sexually assaulted in my life...was not by migrant men 👀🤦🏻‍♀️)

And that’s just the ones that have been reported in the press. Hundreds won’t have had media coverage and hundreds won’t have even been reported. It’s definitely not the odd crime. It’s so far from that. It’s a huge problem.

There was a thread this week where NI women tried to explain we were more scared of the people protesting (with good reason - one of the posters brothers was murdered by people of their ilk, my brother was threatened with murder, and NI has the highest femicide rates in the UK I believe - by white people) and we got sneered at.
