Surely public figures must realise that making empty performative gestures will come back to haunt them at some point?

Stop. It’s someone’s life you’re using for Labour’s gain.

I am not Labour.

My interest is the truth.

So tell me, have you ever seen any fear mongering stuff at all in your reading ?

From what I see in the news, he killed himself before it was announced. And after the changes were announced, it was nowhere near anything like the right wing rumour mills were making out.

We see misinformation all over. On here too.

What a terrible thing to post.

Shameful.

Out of interest-why is your picture not complete?

This is the full post if anyone is interested.

Quote : "It's time we focused on the problems in the here and now because the UK is now 40% worse off than people in the US (in terms of per capital GDP)."

The thing is with statement such as that is it is not the full picture. The screengrab attached shows the graph of US v UK GDP.

The UK isnow on an up gradient, and the US is on a steeper gradient. But see where the gradients start to change. 2014. What was happening around then. Before 2014 the UK and US were well matched.

The actual fuller picture is saying the difference started in 2014. What could that be ?

Source for graph:

World Economic Outlook (April 2026) - GDP per capita, current prices (imf.org)

Well there's nothing we can do about political decisions made in 2014 - we need to make decisions now to stop it getting worse.

Playing the blame game from over a decade ago doesn't help that much in terms of decisions that need to be made now. We don't have a time machine and we can't go back.

And the fact is money is being wasted on DEI. Given the rapid trajectory to poverty (in real terms like whether you can heat your home or feed your children) of people who were previously ok financially in the UK, we don't have the capacity for ideological projects. The police need to focus on their core jobs. As do politicians. Not get involved in international grandstanding.

A cracking post.

Well many Reform/Restore voters and Robinson fans will think so, yes. But it is a typical far-right rant of distortion of facts, disinformation and hyperbole.

So, only Reform/Restore voters would agree with that post? That’s a bold assertion.

I have never voted for Reform or Restore, and nor am I a Robinson ‘fan’.

Just wondering,@Gruntled1. When you buy a new car, do you do any research, or do you just buy the first one you see without doing any background checks?

And one that I didn't make 😊 Although I am sure you said you voted Reform in the local elections. Or perhaps I am confusing you with someone else.

?? A lot of people voted Reform during the local elections - hence Starmer is on the way out.

It's not playing the blame game. It's looking at the data instead of a single cherry picked snapshot.

And the data I presented had nothing to do with the second half of your post.

I never shared the rest. I done the post trying to interpret the first half. But I will give the 2nd a miss.

According to the 2nd half:

Starmer is an anti-British, anti-business, anti-individual, totalitarian communist?

Where to start with that ?

I would start with the communist bit personally. Because whoever wrote that has totally no idea what a communist is. Then again, communists don't really know what communism is, because Marx never really got round to explaining it. And I know a lot of communists.

“Empty performative gestures”. Like wearing a Poppy?

Talking of poppies, do you remember back in 2023, when Starmer removed his poppy 'by mistake' (cough, cough), to film a video message about Islamophobia. Then it was spotted that Anas Sarwar (Scottish Labour leader) was also not wearing a poppy for his similar message;

Maybe that just goes to show how ‘effective’ the E&D training had been, in the case of that male officer.

Yup! Ironically, there is a hierarchy within EDI.
