To be totally APPALLED by how Robinson referred to Henry Nowak in his “speech” in Southampton on Tuesday?

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 04/06/2026 09:22

I’ve just seen a clip of this in a Guardian article on the main agitators in Southampton on Tuesday.
TR refers to Henry Nowak in this way: “White privilege?! Does Henry swear word beginning with F Nowak look as if he had white privilege when he was lying on the floor?”
He then smirks as he looks down, clearly proud of himself for delivering such an eloquent speech [sarcasm].
I’m beyond disgusted by how the name of this beautiful young man, who has lost his life in the most brutal way, was used in such a disrespectful way in order to rouse a rabble and boost TR’s ego.
AIBU to say that over the last two days TR, NF and their ilk are really showing us who they are and what motivates them?

Farage and Robinson coukd stand up and not be as pragmatic but pander to the liberals. They would still be slated. The fact that Reform did so well in the LEs should be making you question why. Nah, dig in more like Starmer and then moan when Reform progress.

I do question why. My grandfather never fully recovered from the injuries he got fighting fascists. I'm relieved that he's no longer around to see what's happening to this country.

I wouldn’t have liked it if it was my son. Tommy was just using this as a platform opportunity, this after Henry’s poor family asked for his death not to cause more discontent.
A peaceful protest or vigil would have been more in keeping. Locals were scared in their homes, having had their property damaged, and were then out sweeping the streets outside their homes afterwards 😢

People's cars were set on fire - people who had nothing to do with any of this. It's just the usual racists out shit-stirring and kicking off.

I don’t understand why anyone is questioning it after the rape gangs and now this.

Mine was at the liberation of Auschwitz and the concentration camps. He'd have been utterly disgusted by Farage and TR. He saw the end result of fascism.

FFS people are getting killed and the left are STILL arguing over semantics. 🤦‍♀️

They’re not arguing about semantics….rather for decency and respect. Farage’s and Robinson's reactions to this awful happening are vile and shameful.

So maybe he said "fucking" inthe wrong place, might have been better as Hampshire "fucking" Police but it doesnt make poor Henry not dead in a pool of blood under arrest does it?

It’s the constant use of 4-letter words on this site that puts me off MN. I thought women were better than this - at least had a better grasp of English vocabulary and didn’t have to ape male lowlifes.

Wow, really?? Nearly all the women in my life are more aggressive than I am.

He was murdered. And your main concern is a swear word?
Let me guess you’re also “outraged”by the protests but cheered along the George Floyd riots ? Public figures are racist for speaking out about Henry nowak but in 2020 they were racist if they didn’t take the knee for an American convict

It seems people are finally waking up to the fact “white privilege” is complete bullshit

George Floyd’s death and Henry Nowak’s death are completely different.

If you are outraged by Henry Nowak’s death then you must also have been outraged (even more so) by George Floyd’s death.

Anyone who attended the protests for Henry Nowak’s death should have also attended the protests for the BLM movement and supported those taking the knee, considering it was about racial injustice amongst the police force - or do you only care if the victim is white?

No one with an ounce of intelligence would condone any violent protests.

But the difference in this situation is that the grieving family have begged people to not disrespect them and Henry by exploiting his death for political gain or to create division.

Anyone who actually cares about the death of Henry Nowak, would not go against his family’s wishes.
Anyone supporting these protests or TR does not care about the death of Henry Nowak.

Your grandfather fought against fascism to see it now arising from the left, I agree. Many lost military lives were in vain when those very men would be treated unfavourably now. That is why veterans' societies have so many volunteers while the government are prioritising others.

MrsLFii · 04/06/2026 10:32

Leaving aside the point TR was making, whether you agree or disagree, I agree that it was an inappropriate and highly disrespectful way of referring to a recently murdered young man. His poor family.

bloooooberry · 04/06/2026 10:32

Sorry to say as I'm sure this will hit home for a few. But those who deny the existence of white privilege are generally white people who are dissatisfied with how their own life has turned out and are looking for anyone else to blame. Sadly they can't take accountability for their own failures.

If you're inclined to respond to my comment denying this, I'm talking about you.

Lee Rigby parents' did the same. Have you really thought why? I'm not saying both sets of parents don't think their sons' barbaric murderers should be cited to evidence the country's massive problem/s. However, it makes it easier for Starmer to use it against Farage, who, as an MP, has every right to respond to the societal circumstances. Deflection is done for the greater good.

George Floyd was murdered by a police officer (american police being notoriously institutionally racist)

Henry Nowak was not murdered by the police. He was murdered by a psychopath. Yes, the police were massively incompetent and negligent.

They are the not the same scenarios so why compare them? Educate yourself re (male) white privilege. It does still exist, even though it absolutely should not exist.

The only thing that matters in all of this is that Henry Nowak’s grieving family explicitly asked for Tommy Ten Names, Farage and their ilk not to exploit Henry’s death this way, and they have ignored it.

This

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 04/06/2026 10:36

Does anyone truly believe that either Tommy Robinson or Nigel Farage care about Henry Nowak? If they did, they would respect his family's wishes. Instead, they are using his death for political gain and people are falling for it.

Yep, a bunch of white (usually males) angry that something that's purely an accident of their birth doesn't grant them the same start in life it once did. Thing is life is crap now BECAUSE of people like Nigel Farage, he isn't the answer people like him are the problem - close the wealth inequality gap and life will get better.

Yes, this is the thing that I find most disturbing.
They talk about protecting women and children but have been strangely silent about Stephen McCullagh, who faked a livestream whilst he murdered his pregnant spouse.
BOTH these issues are appalling. The common denominator is that the murder was perpetrated by a violent man.
And it's men who are highlighting one specifically, despite being asked NOT to, for their own gain politically. The ONS shows that 77% of all males prosecuted for indictable offences have been white.
https://theworlddata.com/crime-statistics-uk-by-race/ also shows similar, more recent data.

I'm concerned with the bias in how this terrible situation has been addressed.

They didn't actually do so well. They didn't meet their own expectations. They lost in Gorton and Denton despite fielding a well known candidate. Hence why they've chosen an unknown racist, mysogynistic plumber in Makersfield. No well known candidate wants to take the risk of losing and being embarrassed in the way that Goodwin was.

Educate yourself - one of the most patronising lines ever used. BLM thrust violence on society during Covid. Wonder how many if you were vocal then in that drumming up of hate and division. Why is it only black people who are allowed to rise up against prejudice?
