To be totally APPALLED by how Robinson referred to Henry Nowak in his “speech” in Southampton on Tuesday?

I’ve just seen a clip of this in a Guardian article on the main agitators in Southampton on Tuesday.
TR refers to Henry Nowak in this way: “White privilege?! Does Henry swear word beginning with F Nowak look as if he had white privilege when he was lying on the floor?”
He then smirks as he looks down, clearly proud of himself for delivering such an eloquent speech [sarcasm].
I’m beyond disgusted by how the name of this beautiful young man, who has lost his life in the most brutal way, was used in such a disrespectful way in order to rouse a rabble and boost TR’s ego.
AIBU to say that over the last two days TR, NF and their ilk are really showing us who they are and what motivates them?

Deflect, deflect, deflect.......

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 04/06/2026 09:25

Neatly ignoring all this issues of his death I see.

A bridge too far this time. White men can't campaign against white privilege because it upsets the left. Hurty words are way more unsettling than a Sikh family lying about a young white boy while he lay dying. Not bothered by a police force who have been trained like robots to police with fear and favour.

What? You agree it’s okay to refer to Henry Nowak using an offensive swear word?

What's the problem, is it the word fucking? You can swear on here you know?

Gosh you’re right. That’s the issue here….

MrListerSir · 04/06/2026 09:28

Oh no, OP, not swear words!

The point remains valid, however much you disagree with it.

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 04/06/2026 09:28

It’s the issue in my post and in my point about TR.

Have you read my post?

I'm not a fan of TR but I don't think the swear word here is offensive to the victim.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 04/06/2026 09:30

Pleasantly surprised by this thread. The tide really is turning, even on MN.

LuckyHazelFox · 04/06/2026 09:32

Farage and Robinson coukd stand up and not be as pragmatic but pander to the liberals. They would still be slated. The fact that Reform did so well in the LEs should be making you question why. Nah, dig in more like Starmer and then moan when Reform progress.

MrListerSir · 04/06/2026 09:32

@OnlyMabelInTheBuilding I've thought this recently - the scales are finally falling! It's good to see.

CossyBunt · 04/06/2026 09:34

Oh gosh TR said a swear word. That really is the most horrendous part of this dreadful situation. Would you not mind his speech, if he was more eloquent? Just get to your point OP.

It wasn’t TR who treated that poor boy with a complete lack of humanity. Pay a bit more attention. RIP Henry.

You make it sound as though White Privilege is a good thing. Is that your intention?

Imagine your 18 year old child is called Sally Potter.

Imagine she’s brutally murdered and a horrifying clip of her final moments broadcast for everyone to see.

Imagine the country’s most controversial political rabble rouser hijacking her murder for his own reputational gain and making a speech at a protest referring to her as

Sally Fucking Potter”

How would you feel? Is this acceptable?

The only thing that matters in all of this is that Henry Nowak’s grieving family explicitly asked for Tommy Ten Names, Farage and their ilk not to exploit Henry’s death this way, and they have ignored it.

IrnBruAndDietCoke · 04/06/2026 09:37

FFS people are getting killed and the left are STILL arguing over semantics. 🤦‍♀️

That’s all they have left. Their arguments are dying.

EarthlyNightshade · 04/06/2026 09:38

I agree with you, OP.

But things are so bad here now, the far right have more or less won.

<I'm not "left", I am pretty much centre>

LuckyHazelFox · 04/06/2026 09:38

The only egos that are being stoked @Whereismyjoiedevivre are ones like yours and the OP of the Southampton protest thread. You're not the victims, Henry that beautiful boy as you call him, received the opposite of police privilege. He was treated like a second class citizen and many many people have had enough. The arrest video still hasn't woken the left up because they have to keep pitting for what they see as the underdog. Well Henry wasn't any dog, he was a white young lad who was murdered by a Sikh who knew he could play the race card. Those are the words that should sicken you, while the boy lay dying. * *
