I KNOW that plenty of the men who come are not evil and don't want to commit sexual assault. But clearly a number who have come are, and there's strong evidence that male migrants are disproportionately lileky to do so.

This almost surely at least partly caused by misogynistic culture in various areas meaning back home they perceived uncovered women as permissible to assault. But surely they know it's different here? That they will likely be caught? They are at least more likely to be punished here for assault.

Or are they convinced our police system will let them off?

Or they're not aware our norms are different?

Or just don't care about the consequences?

I wonder also if criminals are in a sense selected for since they may have little to tie them to their home countries, or even be escaping punishment there.

A clear and harrowing account explaining why so many Afghani men want to leave and find a better future for their families. We were complicit in screwing their country up for 20 years before handing it back to the Taliban and abandoning them to their fate.

That is the only way to seek asylum in the U.K. - to be on British soil and claim. This isn’t illegal entry in the eyes of the law then - if they land and don’t claim then it would be illegal.

There’s lots of debate around this I know, but this false understanding that these small boats are landing illegals, who remain illegal is not helpful.

There are illegal migrants in the U.K. but most will have arrived legally and then overstayed their visa.

Yes. The arguments are about why. On the nurture side are things like nutrition, education, poverty. If you think those things affect tested IQ then you should expect big differences, which is what is found.

Because of their culture.

Because where they are from women are objects to be owned.
They don't 'date' women, they are given a bride by her parents, often in exchange for money or land.
Women don't have autonomy, they don't have to give consent. Sex is a right to them.
They cover their women up, head to toe, to stop temptation then they arrive here and see women in shorts and vest tops and see those women as shameful and think its OK to tough them because why are they ahowing their skin if they aren't ok with that?

Just google rape statistics per European country and look at the countries where women are raped the most and the least.

Then compare that to the countries that take in most migrants and the countries that have refused to take them.

You know that most migrants travelling via irregular routes are male due to the costs and risks of those routes ? They seek asylum and then apply for their families to come over safely and legally later.

Umm I have to object to this.

Did you see the fall of Kabul? Did you see how the Taliban, under Trump’s arrangement, took control of Afghanistan?

It is simply not true the men left women and children then - many, even most, families who could get out/assistance from other countries stayed together. Of course many ran - anything to escape torture from the Taliban when there was no chance of winning - but many ran in family groups - some hoped if they ran then their family may possibly just be safer as well.

Nowadays any family requesting passports will only get so many - not all. Not that they can book travel. Women can’t travel without a man - I mean anywhere not just onto a plane - the men have the best, even only, chance of getting out. Afghanistan bordering countries are going to be no better for women/families escaping either.

How about deport all the Afghan men and pay for flights for the same number of Afghan women and children to come here and take their place. The women need asylum more and pose no risk of rape.
