To think no one in the world is actually a 34C?

I have read a million threads here about people being in the wrong bra size. At 60 years old after 4 pregnancies, 4 years of breastfeeding, weight gain, weight loss and menopause I decided I needed to get fitted. I was wearing at 38E (I have big boobs) came out a 34H 🤯🤯🤯. If someone said to me before that I was a H cup I would have cried but guess what, my size 14 dress fits perfectly. It’s apparently ok to have H boobs 😲. I’m officially mind blown. Go get yourself measured

xOlive · Yesterday 22:32

I have no idea what I am anymore.
Mine are gargantuan at the moment, I’d be scared to find out what I am 😂

exhaustedandoverit · Yesterday 22:32

I was a 34c for a really long time. 32dd now after kids.

why would you think that nobody else is because you’re not?

I once went into Jenner's (Edinburgh) as a 40C and asked to be measured. Walked out as a 34 E.

TallSturdyGirl · Yesterday 22:33

I am, used to not be!

InspectorDefect · Yesterday 22:34

Everyone was a 36B in the seventies lol - except they weren't!

TheBirdintheCave · Yesterday 22:35

I am :D

MeridaBrave · Yesterday 22:35

I was a 34c for ages but I lost weight and now a 32c.

EarringsandLipstick · Yesterday 22:36

Very odd thread title. Why wouldn’t someone be 34C?

I’m 34B. Have been most of my bra-wearing life, pregnancies aside.

I’m the opposite way around 😆 32dd pre kids then lost three stone after the second baby which naturally all came from bits of me I’d rather it hadn’t 🙄

LivingDeadGirlUK · Yesterday 22:37

cup size is a ratio, a 38E is the same volume of boob as a 34G, so you weren't too far off and like so many people just had the band too loose.

I was a 34C before pregnancy.

Twodogsonthecouch · Yesterday 22:37

@exhaustedandoverit of course I know some people are, I’m being facetious. It’s just that it seems to be so common that women are wearing the completely wrong size bra but the commonest size sold is 34C.

I am a FF but you honestly wouldn't think so looking as me as only a 30 back.

Most people have no concept of what a cup size actually looks like, I remember a friend at school thinking my mum was a D cup cos she has always been massive - she's an H! She wishes she was a teeny D! 😆

pickalillyspooon · Yesterday 22:38

I see what you mean, OP.

34C used to just be a “standard size”.

but everyone these days seems to be back size 28, 30, 32, even people who I wouldn’t have thought look like they have a narrow back. And the cup sizes all seem to be much bigger; E, F, G, H etc.

Back in the day DD was seen as “big”, and it just isn’t now.

I’m not sure what’s changed. I’m guessing the sizing / measuring technique as opposed to women’s bodies.

suki1964 · Yesterday 22:41

Same for me - 38d for so many years through weight gains and losses

Im now a 34 DD/E - depending on cups and those puppies are tucked in, supported and I wear a dress size smaller which hangs well , which in turn gives me confidence and therefor I walk taller and dont hide away slouching

Shinyredbicycle · Yesterday 22:42

The guidance for band size used to me measure round your torso just under your breasts and add 4 or 5 inches (to make an even number) and that's your band size.

It's now measure round just under your breasts and that's your band size.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · Yesterday 22:44

I have been at various stages. My boobs aren’t very big.

I’m a 36C now (I think, or 36D, I’d have to check!)

SewingButterfly · Yesterday 22:51

Does it come from the days when M&S used to measure and +4 to the band size? So a 34C is equivalent to a properly fitting 30E bra

Hangingcrystal · Yesterday 22:54

I was in my 30's pre breastfeeding.
I was perfect!
38 D after breastfeeding, they never pancaked out, so it could be worse.

I think this was because the bands didn’t stretch years ago, or something to that effect. If you’re a size 10 (for instance) your band size should be around a 30. 30 years ago it would have probably been a 34. So someone who was a 34C who’s boobs haven’t changed at all would now be a 30DD/E size depending.

AImportantMermaid · Yesterday 22:57

My DD is a little tiny thing. We were all surprised when she measured as a 30E. Have you ever tried getting 30E bras?

ScotiaLass · Yesterday 23:00

I used to wear a 34C in my twenties. Went to get properly fitted (i.e. not in M&S) and became a 30F. It changed my life - posture improved, back pain gone, looked like I'd lost a stone. Now in my 40s wearing a 34EE.

Statsquestion1 · Yesterday 23:02

I have always been a b cup. I’m 40 and have had two dc. I went from an A cup to a B cup and stayed there my back has gone from a 30 to a 34 since though.
