To feel weird about being second woman on sex chair

I don’t think I am BU but interested in whether other people would just get over it.

Been with my boyfriend for two years, we don’t live together yet and he has just got some furniture out of storage after moving house. One item that he has recently mentioned is a curvy foam chair/sofa thing made for sex. I will add a photo of similar. Although he originally bought it new I think it’s fairly likely he has had sex with his ex on it.

I am not usually jealous at all but I feel really weird about this - I guess because it’s specially made for sex? And because it’s foam I feel like if it wasn’t covered it has probably absorbed some juices 🙈. Although surely any bacteria will be dead after two years. I just don’t want to be lying on this thing knowing his ex was in the same positions, thinking maybe she was face down in the same spot and we would be basically cheek to cheek!

These feelings are all new to me as I don’t usually think about exes and I’ve never been confronted with sex furniture/toys/accessories that weren’t my own or bought new. AIBU to feel weird about this? Would you just put a waterproof sheet down and try to get over it, or refuse to use it because you don’t want to feel uncomfortable during sex?

Purple stick figure gets all the fun without much work.

I dunno........in the last diagram purple doesn't seem to be getting any action at all.....not even a good view.

Perhaps just having a catnap in preparation for the next round ?

Coffecakeicing · 24/05/2026 13:32

Good lord OP, raise your bar.
I would clamp shut at even seeing such a thing.
Total turn off.

Many sofas and car seats are also cloth and don't have removable covers for washing.

I'd only be grossed out with either if there were obvious stains on it, regardless of what the stains were, whether sex related, or more normally just drinks or food, or even sick/urine/poo etc. You never know what previous people have done unless you buy new.

But the vast majority of those are protected against by the customary use of pants when sitting on furniture.

If I knew your and your OH drove about in your car in the nude, I probably would be asking someone else for a lift - though admittedly at that point the upholstery might not be the biggest concern looming in my mind ...

Please tell me this is a wind up and you are having a poke at the thread the other day.

And then you have the original royal sex chair, a bespoke creation made for Edward VII which provides hours and hours of fun .... just from trying to work out who and/or what goes where!

Well I am clearly very pure-minded as my guess would have been an upholstered sledge.

Ladies sitting primly with their hands in muffs ... so to speak.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/05/2026 13:37

I'd get him to sell it online and then if YOU want a sex chair in YOUR house to use with him, you guys can look to buy a new one.

it doesn't matter if you're unreasonable or not. it's sex. don't do or be bullied into doing it anywhere or any how you don't want to.

do you want to do it a lot in this position? don't answer that here, but I'd consider his level of expectations and why he's only getting it out now

Maddy70 · 24/05/2026 13:38

The fact he owns a sex chair would be enough of a turn off for me

sunnydisaster · 24/05/2026 13:41

I‘m old!

CoudyWithAChanceOfCustard · 24/05/2026 13:44

If it came with an iPad holder I might be tempted…I could watch Yellowstone whilst he was ‘busy’ (and would definitely not be fantasising that Rip was riding me like a stallion 🤣).

Otherwise I’d take it to the dump.

Also…the overuse of the word ‘juices’ has seriously tickled me…can’t stop laughing every time I read it 😂😂

OP, I voted YNBU because you dont have to do, or use anything you're not comfortable with.

I was hoping someone would post this. I didn’t want to take the chance given I was sitting in an auditorium and didn’t want the people behind me to see it.

OtterlyAstounding · 24/05/2026 13:50

I don't even understand how that chair is supposed to make sex possible, let alone easier. Is he supposed to try to cram his knees onto that tiny sliver of space either side of her legs? Squat above her, with legs akimbo? It looks like a hindrance rather than a help. I don't get it!

Also, yes, it's gross to use the sex furniture he used with his ex. After all, would you let him use the dildo he used on his ex on you, if he sterilised it well? If not, then don't use the weird sex furniture that hasn't been sterilised, and has been marinating for years.

Bloatstoat · 24/05/2026 13:51

This thread has really cheered up my day, I am missing the laugher reaction Grin

My first thought was where would you put it?! I do have a small house, completely filled with kids random stuff, but I've never had a bedroom big enough to fit more than a bed/wardrobe/maybe a chest of drawers, my current living room struggles to hold a small sofa and additional chair - and surely it's not the sort of thing you expect guests to sit on Envy Do you keep it in the shed and just bring it out for special occasions? I clearly just don't have the sort of home and lifestyle that allows for a sex chair.

MrFluffyDogIsMyBestFriend · 24/05/2026 13:53

Have Niteflirt increased their chat prices again?

NotOneMoreLunge · 24/05/2026 13:53

I can’t figure out what you could do on it, other than shown on the picture. Seems to up a lot of space for not that much versatility.

KingOfPoundbury · 24/05/2026 13:57

One knows exactly what you mean.
It is well documented that I take my own toilet seat with me whenever I visit different areas of my domain.
Pehaps you could do something similar, and obtain your own 'sex chair' and then take that with you, should your relationship with this fellow ever terminate?

IDontHateRainbows · 24/05/2026 13:59

In my day you did it in a bed...

PriscillaQueenoftheKitchen · 24/05/2026 14:01

I’m not a user, but I recently saw an advertisement for one. I have fibromyalgia, have constant pain. I physically can’t be in one position for long, I mean both sex and normal life. My hips and lower back are definitely the ones that suffer during sex. Something like this would definitely help me.

Sorry you have to deal with that, one of my best mates suffers from Fibro and it's an absolute fecker💐
See now you've explained it I totally see why someone in your position (no pun intended!) might buy one of these things. That makes a lot of sense. But I don't think they're designed specifically for people who have chronic pain/mobility issues are they? If so then I still don't get why someone without those issues would need one.

I know I am old but I had never heard of a sex chair until the last few days !

Same here other than reading that as Edward V11 grew older and ever more portly he had a sex chair designed to accommodate his weight and bulk.

Me too.

The other “sex chair” was on the thread where the woman’s husband had bought her a “gift” of a sex chair to spice up their lives because he was having an affair with the office junior whom he referred to in texts as Bimbo. He even had the neck to ask his wife to assemble the chair as he was too busy.

For similar reasons. You can get in different positions you may not be able to without extra support. Especially if you aren’t flexible or have much core strength.
