To feel weird about being second woman on sex chair

I don’t think I am BU but interested in whether other people would just get over it.

Been with my boyfriend for two years, we don’t live together yet and he has just got some furniture out of storage after moving house. One item that he has recently mentioned is a curvy foam chair/sofa thing made for sex. I will add a photo of similar. Although he originally bought it new I think it’s fairly likely he has had sex with his ex on it.

I am not usually jealous at all but I feel really weird about this - I guess because it’s specially made for sex? And because it’s foam I feel like if it wasn’t covered it has probably absorbed some juices 🙈. Although surely any bacteria will be dead after two years. I just don’t want to be lying on this thing knowing his ex was in the same positions, thinking maybe she was face down in the same spot and we would be basically cheek to cheek!

These feelings are all new to me as I don’t usually think about exes and I’ve never been confronted with sex furniture/toys/accessories that weren’t my own or bought new. AIBU to feel weird about this? Would you just put a waterproof sheet down and try to get over it, or refuse to use it because you don’t want to feel uncomfortable during sex?

Wow I have lived a sheltered life. Though I do like the idea of knitting and reading simultaneously.

Quite. And if you turned round and sat on it you could gaze at the stars as well - plus relieve your puffy ankles (not that I'm suggesting your ankles are puffy @RaininSummer ).😉

And they say romance is dead.

One careful owner? I'm not going to look. Can you imagine your partner telling you he's nipping out to collect the sex chair he's bought at a bargain price.

Well it doesn’t say one careful owner. But either it’s being sold for similar reasons as to the OP or it’s just not that good.

I do love to multitask!

Does it come in other colour or is it just the Heather Shimmer?

Heather Shimmer would be a great Onlyfans name though!

Calliopespa · 24/05/2026 17:57

I'd somehow feel objectified like a spit roast or rotisserie chicken splayed out on that device.

I guess there is a model with a flip the bird option.

I can't figure for the life of me what different positions you'd be able to get in on that chair, and I don't want to Google it 🫣 What can one do on that, which one can't do better with a mound of cushions and a bed?

I've tried the full gamut of positions in my lifetime, and I honestly still can't work out what one could do on that chair. It seems much too narrow and low to the ground for most things, including comfortable doggy, and the shape looks limiting.

Ha ha I might have a Google for the both of us 😂

Isn’t a large part of sex just objectification though? Not in a disrespectful way but primarily it’s about visually and sensually appealing actions/imagery. There’s very little conversation, if I’m doing it correctly?

😂 primarily a 30-40 something audience, I’m guessing

I haven't read the whole thread, it's very long, but I would feel very weird about a man who even owned a chair like that. It would be a definite No from me.

Esmeraldathe3rd · 24/05/2026 18:31

Mate I've had sex with other women, used toys that other women have used. Been given used toys off friends (glass so sterilised but still) I've gone to clubs where they have sex furniture. So alot of people would consider me a bit sexually manky.

Ain't no chance on gods green earth I'm having sex with my partner on sex furniture bought for his ex. TBF I've never slept in anyones bed that their ex slept in. Coincidentally, new partners have always involved new houses. So it's not something I've got used to, I've never been in a space someone had shared with their ex. I imagine that can be really uncomfortable tbh.

YANBU id rather sell it and buy a second hand one strangers have used than use one he used with his ex.

Just say that makes you feel uncomfortable, end of, no one should do anything in sex in anyway that makes them uncomfortable.

Pennysworth · 24/05/2026 18:32

I suspect this was invented by a man with a man’s pleasure in mind so possibly there’s a feeling of being objectified around it? Whatever, my gut reaction is definitely a big ew!’

They're mainly for comfort tbh, getting the good angle without all the bending and awkward positions.

Mykneesareshot · 24/05/2026 18:51

He would not be moving in with me, ICK!!!

Yes and stop drinking orange/apple/grapefruit juice in bed all together if you’re that clumsy

🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏

Well I did not expect anyone to say that 😆😆

I'm laughing so much I nearly fell off my non sex sofa. Where is he going to put it, the chair I mean. I have this image of his nan popping over and thinking it's the comfiest easy chair.

AniahJeremiah · 24/05/2026 19:10

What is a sex chair?

Wonderlandpeony · 24/05/2026 19:21

The whole thing gives me the ick

TheBloomingDahlia · 24/05/2026 09:44

No the bacteria was an afterthought really, it’s more the thought of sex juices on/in the chair. I’m sure there are loads of juices in mattresses so I’m trying to make sense of why I feel strange about the chair, but wouldn’t care about a bed

The constant use of “juices” is grossing me out most here

😂then asking for one for Christmas ('if it's not too expensive')..

I think it is Amazon delivery responsible for these developments.

No way would my grandparents have loaded and unloaded a purchase of that doggy-style sofa into and out of their car after a visit to John Lewis.

TBF, I've viewed a few houses for sale with some very nice chaise longues in the bedroom. And don't tell me they are for sitting on while putting on your slippers...
