To feel weird about being second woman on sex chair

I don’t think I am BU but interested in whether other people would just get over it.

Been with my boyfriend for two years, we don’t live together yet and he has just got some furniture out of storage after moving house. One item that he has recently mentioned is a curvy foam chair/sofa thing made for sex. I will add a photo of similar. Although he originally bought it new I think it’s fairly likely he has had sex with his ex on it.

I am not usually jealous at all but I feel really weird about this - I guess because it’s specially made for sex? And because it’s foam I feel like if it wasn’t covered it has probably absorbed some juices 🙈. Although surely any bacteria will be dead after two years. I just don’t want to be lying on this thing knowing his ex was in the same positions, thinking maybe she was face down in the same spot and we would be basically cheek to cheek!

These feelings are all new to me as I don’t usually think about exes and I’ve never been confronted with sex furniture/toys/accessories that weren’t my own or bought new. AIBU to feel weird about this? Would you just put a waterproof sheet down and try to get over it, or refuse to use it because you don’t want to feel uncomfortable during sex?

If he suggested buying a chair new I would tell him not to bother because it seems pointless and a bit weird to have it just hanging around. Might have got the ick with previous partners (I can think of one definitely) but don’t think I would have with him

But seeing as he already has it I thought I would give it a go to try something new. But then I considered it a bit more… and the poll seems to think I’m not BU. Although not sure if that’s based on it being previously used or just the a no to the chair itself

I think folks think you’re unreasonable to even want to do this.

And then you have the original royal sex chair, a bespoke creation made for Edward VII which provides hours and hours of fun .... just from trying to work out who and/or what goes where!

I should think the woman’s arse cheeks on those stick out metal latter type bits.

christ, why do people need this paraphernalia?

Frankly a man talking about/buying a ''sex chair'' would be an instant turn off for me in the first place.

Same here. Ew! And totally different to a bed because they have sheets and aren’t made especially with sex in mind. Ew again😅😅😅

I would tell him that you won't be bending over on his and his exes special sex chair thankyou very much, and maybe he could put it up on marketplace?

“I really don’t want to have sex on this chair after someone else has - anyone else want it”

🤔🤣

But is that because it has been used with someone else, or just because it’s a sex chair full stop?

When I saw the title I honestly thought it would be something like this.

Both. 🤢

Buy our fabulous spongy chair, re-use for each girlfriend and absorb up to one litre of sweat, cum and general sex liquids each time ✨💦🥳

There must be tones of that in the mattress. Did he buy new sheets after he met you or is he still using the same ones. You sound gross 🤮

Flightyflora · 24/05/2026 11:26

Does it come with a penis beaker ?

I get the ick about hotel beds so it’d be a no from me!
The poster above saying is it for the elderly…just you wait until you are the owner of 40yr old knees! 😂

Mine are older, and I still don’t need a sex chair…😂

OonaStubbs · 24/05/2026 11:29

Why can't you just have sex in a normal chair like any normal person?

NortieTortie · 24/05/2026 11:29

Yeah, no, I couldn't.

It does look way more comfy than using a few pillows for support tho

Mylovelygreendress · 24/05/2026 10:25

I know I am old but I had never heard of a sex chair until the last few days !

Same!! I have clearly led too sheltered a life.

GrimGusset · 24/05/2026 11:31

Throw a sheet or towel over it and give it a go. Find out if it’s comfortable. Find out if it allows different positions more easily. If you like it then he can get an upholstery vacuum cleaner shampoo-er thingy and give it a good clean. If you don’t like it then ask him to put it back into storage or sell it.

Personally I’d love to try one of these chairs. I have dodgy hips and knees and DH isn’t exactly very flexible so it would probably allow us to be in positions that just aren’t possible.

Not sure how I’d feel about the chair being used previously. Isn’t that part of what comes with being with someone who has had sex with others before you? His body has been inside other women. Not sure if a chair is such a big deal compared to that.

I am SOOOOO vanilla 😂

I shall be looking out for sex chairs on Right Move going forward.

That’ll be interesting given that RightMove is for selling your home 🤣

Melonmango70 · 24/05/2026 11:32

TheBloomingDahlia · 24/05/2026 09:44

No the bacteria was an afterthought really, it’s more the thought of sex juices on/in the chair. I’m sure there are loads of juices in mattresses so I’m trying to make sense of why I feel strange about the chair, but wouldn’t care about a bed

Because beds are where you sleep, and other stuff is...other stuff.....! But a sex chair is for SEX! Urgh. I would need this to be binned off, for sure!

You wouldn't even need to put your knitting down.

😂 yes it’s really rather practical in that regard

Surely you could find a more suitable group to chat about your niche interests OP than this one. It's tedious.

katepilar · 24/05/2026 11:34

You are absolutely NBU for not wanting to use it.

TrufflePigs · 24/05/2026 11:35

IIRC that was built to accommodate three.
