AIBU to want my sister to leave my local crows alone?

I have been feeding a group of crows near my house and we’re just getting to the point where they wait for me now in a morning and come very close. My sister has decided she wants in on it but I’ve told her to go and find her own murder as I’ve put in all the hard work with these ones. I told her there is a murder across the way on the field she could do and feed.

this morning I was coming home from shop and there she was feeding Russel from my murder. I shouted at her and she shouted that they’re not my fucking crows, at the point a woman walking a dog walked past and tutted so sister shouted that they’re not my crows and I was shouting at her. The woman just carried on walking but this was right near my house!!

AIBU to think she should just go and feed the others???

For some reason I found myself reading this in a west country accent in my head. It seems to suit the post very well 😄

BlueShoeGlue · 19/05/2026 20:16

@AChickenNamedDoris I thought the exact same thing! At least I’m not the only one!

BOTH OF YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY GROW UP.

You both obviously have no lives; nothing interesting is happening, so you spend your sad, piddly lives squabbling over a murder.

There are zillions of crows out there for you both to feed.

I think she should seriously CROW UP…
sorry this thread is really making me chuckle I’ve been going back to it throughout the day Grin

Tillow4ever · 19/05/2026 20:38

You do love to find something to fall out with your sister over, don’t you? It strikes me as you’re always possessive over something you see as yours and she’s trying to take, or you are trying to take over a situation to bring attention back to you.

Think this is the first of your threads where you haven’t been unanimously told you’re batshit and unreasonable, but given your history, I think you are. No-one owns the crows.

XenoBitch · 19/05/2026 20:39

Crows are wild animals. They are not yours.

You really shouldn’t keep reading it, you’re getting in a flap!

I’m going to pet shop on Friday for wild bird seed but apart from that some fruit, nuts and dog food

Go to Waitrose. Get some packets of their essential chicken wings - £2-or-so for 8 - 10 pieces. Let your sister try to compete with that!

Youre sister has developed crow/ bird characteristics
Swooping in🦅

Surely this thread is a wind up?

I only recently discovered the saying; 'A crow in a crowd is a rook, a rook on its own is a crow'. Are they definitely crows?

It’s the other way round.

AliceNotInChains · 19/05/2026 21:48

sister rang me earlier saying white chest isn’t on the lamp post where he normally is. She’s been out a few times to look for him even though it’s pissing it down. I feed them at 7am so white chest knows to meet me there at that time. She’s got no chance of getting Russel out without White chest 🙄 god knows what the neighbours must think of her hanging around that lamppost all evening. I’ve told her to go home and leave them alone.

I've a full time senior role and I make time to interact with wildlife. You sound like the kind of person who doesn't say hello to sheep!

But do you make time to fight over them?

Well this is really turning into a murder mystery now… the neighbours must think your sister is raven mad. Please keep us updated on Russel and white chest OP but do try to get some sleep in the meantime.

I see what you did....raven mad!😋

Start giving Russel (with one ‘I’) steak. He won’t be going back to your sister after that.

You might have to bail her out if neighbours ask her what she's doing and she says she's waiting for the murder.

It could if there's a crow mutiny.
