Can you give some specific examples?

JacquesHarlow · 05/05/2026 12:28

Yeah please expand on the "sense" you're hearing, @Sonato . I'm not saying she isn't, but it's hard to pinpoint what has changed for you otherwise.

Flamingojune · 05/05/2026 12:29

God no

MyMonthlyNameChange · 05/05/2026 12:30

I know what you mean. I fucking loathe the Tories but I actually think she's pretty impressive.

SwanRivers · 05/05/2026 12:30

Go on OP, you've treated us to a thread, why not treat us to your reasons?

Friendlygingercat · 05/05/2026 12:30

Talking a tougher line on immigration and cutting back on benefits. Have voted conservative all my life but I voted Reform in the GE because I had lost faith in them.

scalt · 05/05/2026 12:31

Is she talking about coherent, costed and workable plans, or is it piffle waffle that people want to hear, that Boris Johnson would be proud of, disguised as “sense”? The snake Nigel Farage is good at talking “sense”, ie. saying what he thinks people want to hear.

VickyEadieofThigh · 05/05/2026 12:35

Was it the bit where she promised to start drilling for oil in the North Sea and that the revenue from it would go directly to cutting all our fuel bills? And then the person interviewing her pointed out this wasn't true and she agreed it wasn't?

Timetakesacigarette · 05/05/2026 12:38

The Tories (of which KB was part of the cabinet) had many many years to put things right. They didn’t and instead stuck their noses in the trough and plundered the country with their rich buddies. Labour has inherited a broken country that is, sadly, past the point of no return. It’s all talk - really don’t believe the hype.

MabelRoyds · 05/05/2026 12:39

It’s funny how people stick to “ party politics” as if the parties were all radically different, when actually it’s just that some are palpably stupid and others just incompetent.

nam3c4ang3 · 05/05/2026 12:42

Brave OP - put your hard hat on!!

noworklifebalance · 05/05/2026 12:43

She seems to be more likeable as time goes on - I don’t whether it is because she is now getting into the swing of things or because the other leaders are beyond awful.
Whilst she may be talking some sense, it easy to talk when in opposition as Labour have found out.

araiwa · 05/05/2026 12:44

Lmao

Smeuse · 05/05/2026 12:47

She didn't talk much sense on local radio, Lincolnshire is in the North East, or when she posted the Bloody Sunday video on her X account.

Or when she thought we should support Trump on Iran.

Weeellokthen · 05/05/2026 12:48

Thank goodness it's not just me!!!. I'm Scottish, so the tories and us are not natural bedfellows. But, damn it, I like her 😂

BunfightBetty · 05/05/2026 12:48

ProudAmberTurtle · 05/05/2026 12:37

The way she dealt with the antisemitic heckler yesterday was outstanding:

https://x.com/KemiBadenoch/status/2051355889567719822

That was great. She was so clear and unapologetic in her stance, and didn't stand for any nonsense. No fence-sitting, hand-wringing or apologising for racism for her.

I've never voted Tory in my life (centre left voter), and I disagree with her on some issues, but she is easily the most impressive of all the party leaders, by far.

She gets a hard time on here in particular but yes she was great. Plus the vote is majority yanbu even if the posts so far are doing the ‘lmao’ stuff.

MabelRoyds · 05/05/2026 12:58

She seems sensible. Keir is a dodgy stodgy script reading zombie. Nigel is holding a cigar having a laugh. Zach is a half wit.

Not much competition at the moment.

NoisyLeader · 05/05/2026 13:00

I agree, I have always liked Kemi, despite not being a Conservative voter usually. She seems intelligent and a lot more principled than most politicians. I also feel like she treats the electorate as grown ups, unlike the populist Greens and Reform.

araiwa · 05/05/2026 13:01

To be fair, once is a huge increase from never

ColadhSamh · 05/05/2026 13:02

Her publication of footage of soldiers while they were murdering and maiming people on the streets of Derry on Bloody Sunday was an absolute disgrace. The muted condemnation and forced apology makes her unfit for any kind of leadership.
Her latest contribution refusing to support the banning of marches by Tommy Robinson and his supporters while seeking the banning of Palestinian marches shows the type of person she is.
She's nasty and as dangerous as Farage.

SlumChum · 05/05/2026 13:02

Politically I am against nearly everything she says, but you have to hand it to her, she was given a poison chalice by a party that considered her a placeholder. So if she's actually turning that around good for her and I hope she doesn't win 🤣

DamnBuster · 05/05/2026 13:02

She's a very impressive woman, I admire her, however, it's easy to promise the earth when you're in opposition.

MovingBird123 · 05/05/2026 13:02

Yep, she's got my vote.
