She is the most popular party leader, polling posted upthread.
Why is that 'suspicious'?

Do you always call women who admire or support a politician their ‘fan girls’ or just the politicians you disapprove of?

Keir Starmer told us what he was going to do didn't he? He told us that he was going to 'tread lightly on our lives'. He's trodden all over my life like a deranged rhinoceros.

Which surely proves the point that when you aren't in power you can say a lot of things you can't necessarily action when in power?

What she said was worse

”She said: "Maternity pay varies, depending on who you work for - but statutory maternity pay is a function of tax, tax comes from people who are working.
"We’re taking from one group of people and giving to another. This, in my view, is excessive.

And she manages to lean into manosphere bollocks which somehow suggests women always take from the state and don’t contribute. Women (mothers) pay tax too.

’Smashing the gangs’
’Not raise taxes’ etc

Sunak called him out.

Starmer - Some women have penises! Oh you little fibber you!

I know you think this is trump card, but it really really isn't. Try harder.

Very much so, our Keir. I hear you.

Why vote for someone who says he will do one thing and then end up doing the exact opposite whilst feeling smug in himself. Zero strategy and leadership other than to appease unions, increase benefits and the state. I agree that commentators say he did not do his homework in opposition. So having come into power, he is like a deer in the headlights. No f--king clue how to grow the economy and create jobs.

Hallowedturf · 05/05/2026 14:11

Must confess - I am REALLY looking forward to Thursday, and the morning after the night before.

I hope MN’s servers can handle the meltdown….

I think she's always been a good parliamentary speaker, it's just people have only recently started to notice.

She gave a brilliant speech about Black Lives Matter in about 2020 or 2021, and how they are the antithesis of MLK, when it was a risk to do this, that's when I first noticed her.

It absolutely was not a “risk” to do that for her. It was perfectly in line with her position as a Shield.

The reference to MLK was a perfect example of Right-Winger Bingo though.

Also proves it's easy to lie when in opposition.

I am afraid I agree with this.

That said, when researching Tories for the upcoming local elections after having been utterly put off the shitshow that is UK politics, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Kemi is coming into her own.

She's just a temporary spokesperson for the same old party, who has shown no remorse for what they did to this country.
I wouldn't get too excited. How many leaders did Tories go through in the last 5 years?

And ‘fangirls’? There’s plenty of the same on here for Starmer then.

BunfightBetty · 05/05/2026 12:48

That was great. She was so clear and unapologetic in her stance, and didn't stand for any nonsense. No fence-sitting, hand-wringing or apologising for racism for her.

I've never voted Tory in my life (centre left voter), and I disagree with her on some issues, but she is easily the most impressive of all the party leaders, by far.

I agree with this. I wasn't sure about her to begin with but definitely think that she has become a strong leader of the Conservatives.

Council elections saw huge gains for the BNP in the 2000s. Thankfully they never formed a government. Couldn’t care less about Thursday. 2028 will be the big test.

Sorry to sound stupid/ignorant, but why? What does it mean?

Enoch Powell is famous for the rivers of blood speech.
If you read that, or the worst excerpts from it, I hope you'll agree that using is as a slur against a black woman is vile.

ProudAmberTurtle · 05/05/2026 14:13

GoodkneeBadKnee · 05/05/2026 14:02

Ooh, she's a little fibber!
Stanford University offer at 16? Nope. Cannot stand the woman.

Why 'nope'?

Standford is known for making offers for 16 to 18 year olds and she fitted the criteria for receiving an offer, but her GP father urged her to study in the UK instead.

It would be an odd thing to lie about and, if it was a lie, it wouldn't be difficult to find out if it was a lie.

lornad00m · 05/05/2026 14:13

Never trust a Tory.

Lampzade · 05/05/2026 14:13

As we all know , there is a significant difference between speaking from opposition and governing in power.
One allows for idealism , the other demands accountability
