She’s getting into her stride . I really like her .

NoisyLeader · 05/05/2026 13:52

She was then asked if her comments meant "maternity pay is excessive".
Badenoch said: "I think it's gone too far - too far the other way in terms of general business regulation."

From your own article?

This. Everytime I hear her speak about what they are going to do I wonder why they could not be arsed during almost 15 years in power.

Brexit, Covid, Ukraine?

Tell us that you prefer racists / anti-semites / misogynists without telling us you prefer racists / anti-semites / misogynists.

Take your pick because that's what the other parties represent.

JustAlice · 05/05/2026 14:02

Walkyrie · 05/05/2026 13:56

I don’t think it’ll be a Tory govt, I think it’ll be Tory coalition with Reform like ferrets up their arse to force them to see their harder policies through.

No, of course not. But I don't understand how she has the nerve to open her mouth in the Parliament after what Tories did to the country.
Every time I hear her, I only think that politicians have no shame.

GoodkneeBadKnee · 05/05/2026 14:02

Ooh, she's a little fibber!
Stanford University offer at 16? Nope. Cannot stand the woman.

You may not like her politics, which is fine, but I think its particularly nasty to refer to a black woman as Bad Enoch.

She's climbed up from least popular (of the five) party leader to most popular

Aaahhhh! Good for her.

I'll see how that holds between now and the election.

1dayatatime · 05/05/2026 14:03

I would vote tactically depending on my constituency
I would vote Conservative over Labour, Labour over Reform and Reform over Greens.

I deliberately left out the LibDems because I have absolutely no idea what their policies or views other than not being the "other guy" - despite being the third largest party with 70 seats.

It’s her strength I admire, she’s completely unshakeable and I actually think her experience of living in Nigeria has cemented this - she can see things outside the luxury prism of the UK, and sees through the useful idiots who think they’re knowledgeable about world affairs and need to destroy the UK to help them along. She knows that if the economy is taken care of, everything else will follow.

Agree

Zov · 05/05/2026 14:05

I do find her very likeable. Seen her in an informal setting (on TV recently) and she seems good humoured too. Shame she's not the Labour leader! 😆

Keir Starmer told us what he was going to do didn't he? He told us that he was going to 'tread lightly on our lives'. He's trodden all over my life like a deranged rhinoceros.

Badbadbunny · 05/05/2026 14:07

HobGobblynne · 05/05/2026 13:43

Completely agree - Badenoch was in the position to create change when she was in various ministerial positions in a serving government. Now she's in opposition and has no power, it's very easy to 'say the right thing' but surely you'd have to question why those 'right things' weren't actioned when she/her party had the ability to do so.

Edited

She wasn't the party leader.

I am afraid I agree with this.

That said, when researching Tories for the upcoming local elections after having been utterly put off the shitshow that is UK politics, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Kemi is coming into her own.

Nail on the head, which is something that Starmer and his ilk don't understand.

This always gets posted on any thread not praising Starmer but he really is unpopular and KB leads approval ratings.

Starmer - Some women have penises! Oh you little fibber you!

HobGobblynne · 05/05/2026 14:08

HobGobblynne · 05/05/2026 13:52

No, that’s why I said in any of her various ministerial positions, rather than “when she was PM”.

Ministers aren’t powerless. They can influence policy, legislation and government direction within their departments. Obviously not to the same extent as a party leader, but she still had more ability to create change in government than she does now in opposition.
