Yep I thought this after seeing how she stood her ground the other day when being challenged about defending the Jewish community x

Pieceofpurplesky · 05/05/2026 13:09

Have you forgotten some of the things she did as a cabinet member? Some of the things she said (maternity pay and autism are two that I recall). She is currently able to say what she wants to win gullible people over! If she ever gets in power it would be a return to same old Tory policies of lining the pockets of friends.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 05/05/2026 13:10

I think it's because we're so used to political leaders, flip flopping, prevaricating, back tracking and trying to hold multiple ideological positions, we're all stunned to see somebody clearly state their views.

Verv · 05/05/2026 13:10

I think she's excellent and at the moment the Conservatives are the only party I'm considering voting for.

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 13:12

Friendlygingercat · 05/05/2026 12:30

Talking a tougher line on immigration and cutting back on benefits. Have voted conservative all my life but I voted Reform in the GE because I had lost faith in them.

No thanks. I'm disabled and the Tories and Reform want to make my life and millions of people like me lives much harder.

Credittocress · 05/05/2026 13:13

If you’re talking in general then I disagree.

If you’re comparing her to all the other clowns leading the conversation, then I agree, but it’s a very very low bar.

Boxifrogs · 05/05/2026 13:14

YADNBU. We need her to gain popularity and wipe the floor with the rest of them. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Badbadbunny · 05/05/2026 13:16

I was very impressed hearing her recently talking about bringing High Streets back to life, targeting all the money laundering "shops", encouraging/supporting small businesses etc. A politician who seems to finally "get it" when it comes to small businesses, unlike a succession of politicians over the last 30 years who hate small business and have consistently kicked them in the gutter!

JollyDenimSeal · 05/05/2026 13:17

The Tories broke this country and they'll say anything it takes to get back into power. All parties will
You could have any MP talking sense at any point. That doesn't mean I'll vote for their party

Austerity. Cost of living crisis? Who caused that? Do you think Tories care about poor people? Disabled people?

I don't vote Labour either and I'll certainly not be voting for Reform but I don't think it's a good idea to vote for someone on the basis of their personality (which in my opinion is deeply unpleasant no matter how she tries to hide it).

RobinEllacotStrike · 05/05/2026 13:18

Yeears ago I wrote to my Tory MP about the gender bollocks,he raised my issues with Kemi & she wrote a personal reply to me as Women & Equalities Minister.

She is the only party leader coming anywhere near to impressing me & I am happy to see her popularity rising.

I've never voted Conservative before but I couldnt bring myself to vote for any of the other lot right now. Lets see how things progress.

Yes, people do have short memories when it comes to politics it seems. Also, it is very easy for an Opposition party to say things which will ‘do well’.

as opposed to the leaders repeating cult mantras like "TWAW" and dreadful antisemitism to ensnare the gullible "wolk folk" 😁

The way she dealt with the antisemitic heckler yesterday was outstanding:

Jesus Christ. This video. What a fucking woman.

BeFirmHedgehog · 05/05/2026 13:28

Absolutely not.

Wow, absolutely awesome. It needs saying. We need strong politicians like that.

PGBlush · 05/05/2026 13:32

I really rate her and will vote Tory in the next election because of her. I didn't vote Tory last time

Bunnyofhope · 05/05/2026 13:35

I don't know about her in general, but she was fantastic in Billericay the other day as shown in the video up thread.

Meadowfinch · 05/05/2026 13:35

Compared to Zac "let's legalise all drugs" Polanski, Nigel " cancel ILR" Farage, and the even nuttier chap from Restore, I can see how KB would sound completely reasonable.

She's no friend to women.

ServietteUnion · 05/05/2026 13:37

I can't abide her or the Tories, I've never voted for them and I'm not about to start now, but she's bang on the money about antisemitism in this country.

Completely agree - Badenoch was in the position to create change when she was in various ministerial positions in a serving government. Now she's in opposition and has no power, it's very easy to 'say the right thing' but surely you'd have to question why those 'right things' weren't actioned when she/her party had the ability to do so.

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 05/05/2026 13:44

I think she's great and will definitely vote Tory.

Dweetfidilove · 05/05/2026 13:45

This is an interesting change.
I'm hoping the OP will share more on Kemi's fantastic achievements/performances, as I was of the belief she'd be gone before the next GE.

Edited

Ah but she was mulling apparently. 🙄

I had an opinion of her when she was in government. It hasn't changed.
