Also proves it's easy to lie when in opposition.

Absolutely.

Which surely proves the point that when you aren't in power you can say a lot of things you can't necessarily action when in power?

It certainly proves that about the Labour party and Starmer.

JustAlice · 05/05/2026 14:12

She's just a temporary spokesperson for the same old party, who has shown no remorse for what they did to this country.
I wouldn't get too excited. How many leaders did Tories go through in the last 5 years?

She probably wouldn't even be leader if Cleverly's supporters hadn't screwed up the vote.

Her publication of footage of soldiers while they were murdering and maiming people on the streets of Derry on Bloody Sunday was an absolute disgrace. The muted condemnation and forced apology makes her unfit for any kind of leadership.
Her latest contribution refusing to support the banning of marches by Tommy Robinson and his supporters while seeking the banning of Palestinian marches shows the type of person she is.
She's nasty and as dangerous as Farage.

Totally agree...vile

Well and the conservatives who ran the country in to the ground when they had the chance not to, but now they're in opposition have all the answers

Must confess - I am REALLY looking forward to Thursday, and the morning after the night before.

I hope MN’s servers can handle the meltdown….

I'm in Scotland and of course reform are going to get MSPs elected but only really because Tories are switching sides. I personally won't be applauding at the rise of Reform if that's what you are alluding to

I know you think this is trump card, but it really really isn't. Try harder.

Aw bless you that you think I think that.

You’re better off focusing on Starmer’s tenuous grip on leadership.

KB is clearly going up in ratings and he’s a lead balloon for his party.

JustAlice · 05/05/2026 14:16

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 14:12

And ‘fangirls’? There’s plenty of the same on here for Starmer then.

Agree, Labour is still popular here, and I'm used to it. Never seen so much support for Tories until this thread though. Very suspicious activity.

blueshoes · 05/05/2026 14:11

Very much so, our Keir. I hear you.

Why vote for someone who says he will do one thing and then end up doing the exact opposite whilst feeling smug in himself. Zero strategy and leadership other than to appease unions, increase benefits and the state. I agree that commentators say he did not do his homework in opposition. So having come into power, he is like a deer in the headlights. No f--king clue how to grow the economy and create jobs.

Add Reeves into that too - again, didn't bother getting to grips with the economy/finances whilst in opposition and then "rabbit in the headlights" when she became Chancellor and didn't have a clue what to do.

We saw it during Covid and the 3 million excluded from covid support grants etc. She had a whopping great open goal to hammer Sunak but she was a wet lettuce during Parliamentary discussions about it. It was clear she hadn't done any research, didn't understand "why" 3 million had been excluded, nor all the different ways in which they were excluded and let Sunak wipe the floor with her. Compare that to a random opposition back bench MP (can't remember his name) who knew all about the reasons and managed to get a few "hits" landing against Sunak but as he was a back bencher, the media didn't pick it up.

Brexit, Covid, Ukraine?

None of that impacted what they have alleged they can deliver.

Tell us that you prefer racists / anti-semites / misogynists without telling us you prefer racists / anti-semites / misogynists.

Take your pick because that's what the other parties represent.

That especially covers the Tories.

LOL, why? Why is it suspicious activity? 😆 You keep saying that, but aren't saying why.

Probably because you have no answer, because it's NOT suspicious! 😂

It absolutely was not a “risk” to do that for her. It was perfectly in line with her position as a Shield.

The reference to MLK was a perfect example of Right-Winger Bingo though.

That's simply not true.

It was a time when every Premier League football team had to have 'Black Lives Matter' instead of their names on their shirts and there was political capital to exploit, particularly for black women. Think of Dawn Butler saying she was targeted for racism by the police because her car was stopped and how big a story that became.

Kemi had the guts to speak in parliament about it and say we need to focus on people's characters, not the colour of their skin.

HobGobblynne · 05/05/2026 14:18

EasternStandard · 05/05/2026 14:16

Doesn't really matter at the moment does it, they're in power til 2029 at least. Popularity of any other leaders is irrelevant. Kemi was tanking in the polls and Nigel was climbing. Now things have changed. Popularity of other party leaders will matter in about 3 years time.

JHound · 05/05/2026 14:19

WaffleBomb · 05/05/2026 14:02

You may not like her politics, which is fine, but I think its particularly nasty to refer to a black woman as Bad Enoch.

Thanks for sharing.

It’s really not ‘suspicious’. The usual tactic is to lmao or call people ‘fangirls’ as an insult or call KB names, but it’s not working on this thread as too many do like her.

You’re used to Labour mn but focus groups and polling show you’re at odds with direction of ratings.

Badbadbunny · 05/05/2026 14:18

I hope Starmer is packing his boxes ready to move out.

Why? There's no other labour MP with radically different views to him, so whoever comes next will be delivering much of the same.
