What a load of crap

Never one to mince your words! 🤣

hard agree.

@BeLemonDeer I'm sorry to hear you've had a lot of young deaths in your family, but no, 30 is NOT middle aged. It's not defined by people in your family. Personally I'd say mid 50's at the earliest, but I suppose statistically it's mid 40's, but I'd never class someone mid 40's as middle aged.

Just about yes, if you consider that middle age is a span, not just a single year in the middle of a lifespan.
0-29 - young
30-60 - middle aged
60+ -old.

I think that and I'm 55. Well into middle age.

But I don't think it's a negative. Your middle years are your powerhouse years, when you're working hard, contributing fully to society. More productive than any other age group.

Jesus Christ what silly logic. 30 and 60 year olds in the same category. Bottom set logic.

Nope, you're about 15-20 years short there, assuming someone of average/"normal" health!

YABU.
Middle age starts at 40 at the very youngest. I’m 41 and don’t feel middle aged at all.

Where did you get this nonsense from? The middle ages? 😆

JohnThomasOnAFloralBedspread · Yesterday 17:58

How fucking ridiculous.

MrsColinRobinson · Yesterday 17:58

No, that's absurd. Thirties is just beginning adulthood really.

Yes utter nonsense.

a lot of these have complete skipped 'adult' between young adult & middle aged 🤣🤣

I'm fast approaching 60 and think it's old. At 30, you're approaching middle age. I'd say by 35, you are middle aged.

Again you are talking absolute nonsense, I don't know why this keeps getting posted !

GreyCarpet · Yesterday 18:01

Does it matter?

I'm always curious when people worry about this sort of thing. I'm 51.

Am I middle aged?

Well, I'm not planning on living until I'm 100 so I guess I must be!

But does it matter? What would change if I gave myself a life stage label?

Moveoverdarlin · Yesterday 18:01

Average life expectancy is about 81. So, no.

And if you look at the average 40 year old female, I wouldn’t say they were even middle aged.

Spot on!

CombatBarbie · Yesterday 18:03

Its dropped certainly, middle aged used to be 50+ now id say its def more around the 35-40 mark.

ButterYellowHair · Yesterday 18:04

Do you think when 83 is the average lifespan that 30 is half of 83?

ruethewhirl · Yesterday 18:04

That’s nice, dear. 🙄

Lomonald · Yesterday 18:05

How can a 35 year old be middle aged what are you basing this on @CombatBarbie

madness.

you can feel how you like about yourself (even though I'd be curious to know why you feel old in your 50's?? I'm 57 & had a stroke & still don't feel 'old')

but you can't decide that's objectively old & 30 is middle aged. 30 is just basically 'adult'

I’m 30, I’m one of only two people I know to be married or own a home. Only 2 others have had any babies. If we’re all middle aged the world is doomed.

thefloorislavayes · Yesterday 18:06

I think you should revisit this when you’re 30

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · Yesterday 18:07

My sister and I are 46 and 48 and wouldn’t say we are middle aged yet. Neither of us has hit menopause so I would say middle age is early fifties to 65. With 65 plus older and elderly at around 85.
