Whatever anyone thinks of handguns, 5 year olds died due to gun shot injuries and some respect should be shown by all MPs whatever side they represent

I'd advise not matching yellow and green.

Even if it was a “knee jerk reaction and excessive” why does it matter? What do you want a handgun for?

I don't want a handgun, no idea how you made that leap. We still have plenty of gun crime in the UK, and the vast vast majority of it is related to unlicensed firearms. Gun control laws only penalise law abiding citizens. The sort of people who are prepared to use guns for criminal activity are hardly going to be put off by not having the right bit of paperwork.

How have the gun law changes after Dunblane negatively impacted those who enjoy pistol shooting as a hobby or in competitive sports? It sounds like the tighter controls might be an inconvenience but haven’t prevented people continuing to enjoy these sports.

Referred to here in the original 2014 interview;

Asked about gun controls, Farage said: "I think proper gun licensing is something we've done in this country responsibly and well for a long time, and I think the kneejerk legislation that Blair brought in that meant that the British Olympic pistol team have to go to France to even practise was just crackers...

The UK doesn't have much gun crime compared to other places, in terms of gun homicides we're (thankfully) way down the table. I also think that it is because of the UK's strict gun laws that the majority is related to unlicensed guns. But Hungerford, Dunblane, Cumbria and Plymouth all involved legally held firearms.

Boris Johnson was against the handgun ban in Uk after Dunblane, comparing it to comparing it to "nanny confiscating toys"
.

Yeah, but, he's a prick!!!

He’s vile and I’m sick of him toadying up to the orange man over the pond.

Exactly this! America is in the mess it is in because they will not tighten their gun laws. I really hope Farage never gets in. He is poison 😟
