Whatever anyone thinks of handguns, 5 year olds died due to gun shot injuries and some respect should be shown by all MPs whatever side they represent

as he sat during the talk smirking

90 replies and no one remembers Hungerford ?

A police friend of DFs was called to that.

I think people do remember hungerfird and the cumbria shootings in 2010 which fall either side of Dumblane. The diffrence was children being shot in a school, where they should have been safe. All were tragic and reinforce why we need gun laws. Knives yes can kill but are not quite as effecive as guns, and possibky harded to ban as we do actally have a day today use for many.

I clearly remember Hungerford but that was nearly a decade before Dunblane.

Itxitxitcgx · 14/03/2026 17:27

Farage is utterly odious

Another day another Farage thread . You lot are obsessed.

I look forward to the day he fucks off and leaves the UK alone. But for now he's the owner-leader of a political party in our country so people will talk about him.🤷‍♀️

Yes, and it further exposes his real agenda for taking us out of the EU. 'Sovereignty' my a**.

He'd quite happily sell us out to the Americans if it made him money. We see what he says online for 100 odd quid from random members of the public. Makes you wonder what he says for the hundreds of thousands of pounds he receives from his backers in the US and Russia.

I couldn't believe it when I saw some of his supporters begging the US to invade us. Traitors the lot of them. Sovereignty meant nothing, apparently.

TeaView · 14/03/2026 16:55

Well we haven’t had a similar incident since. So I take that as a win. How is your life worse since this ban?

Have you forgotten about The Cumbria Shootings in 2010 when 13 people were killed (including the gunman) and 11 injured ?

Was Hungerford also being spoken about in parliament? I don't recall a mention of that horrific event 39 years ago on 19th August and of course the 40th anniversary in 2027

@Biggermommabear are you going to answer the question about whether you think the general public should have access to guns? If you think they should have access what would the benefits to society be? Do you think there would be no increase in how many people were murdered each year?

randomrandomer · 14/03/2026 17:45

Biggermommabear · 14/03/2026 14:55

So yet another "Farage bashing thread". Yawn.😴

I could show you dozens of clips of MPs "behaving badly", I'm not sure what this thread is trying to prove.?

I'm not sure what this thread is trying to prove.?

I suppose that there are some people out there so rancid that they'll try to find a way to excuse or defend this man smirking his way through hearing about dead children?

In which case, I think it paid off.

Biggermommabear · 14/03/2026 17:46

Berriesandcucumbers1 · 14/03/2026 16:58

So you would be happy for the general public to have access to guns? If so, why, what good would that do? It increases the risks of people being murdered.

No, not Joe Public. Those that want to engage in competitive target shooting with small arms should be allowed to do that, but it must be very rigorously controlled.

Would you control archery ? You can buy all sorts of archery equipment on the internet.

I’m glad he sat there smirking. I’m glad people can see what he is. The more he acts in this way the more his popularity will decline. He’s over confident and he’s now misjudging his own reactions he’s that sure of himself but people aren’t stupid.

I fear you may be overestimating many aspects of a Farage supporter.

I probably wouldn't opposed increased restrictions on some archery equipment tbh, although they are still no where near as dangerous as guns
I think you can already get a fire arms license if you are genuinely doing competitive shooting sports.
So are you actually opposed to the restrictions that were imposed on guns after dunblane or not? You seem to be arguing with those who don't want Joe public to have access to guns but then defending farage for complaining about the restrictions being put in place.

The Cumbrian Massacre involved a rifle and a sawn off shot gun, not a hand gun.

So you'd censure this person as well?

It seems the Left are obsessed with "smirking" and see it everywhere?

So you want to get technical? OK.

The reason people modify a shotgun by shortening the barrel is because they can't get hold of a hand gun. With a shortened barrel, your shotgun becomes a nimble extension of your arm, allowing you to swiftly change positions and adjust your aim with lightning speed.

Or maybe the right wing is full of dickheads who enjoy winding people up

Maybe the Left are touchy, very easily 'wound up' and have no self control?

Tedious

JustGiveMeReason · 14/03/2026 18:18

He is a vile, odious, and manipulative man.

Unfortunately the majority of the press in our country is run by people with similar thinking.

ForPlumReader · 14/03/2026 18:22

The man is an ignoramus but we knew that anyway. He has no redeeming features as far as I can tell.
