Was anyone a fan but now is a bit....done?

I was, of her music, didn't really follow her much (her personal life)

But after her shitty album, the texts made public in the BL/JB controversy and now the Opalite video yet AGAIN making digs at her fiances ex, who is now getting bullied online...I just think I see her for who she is and I can't separate the music from the artist

I think I may be a retired 'swiftie'

She's nearing 40 for god's sake....it's all very mean girl

So referring back to the eating out of the trash line, it just means that ruminating over past relationships and letting that block you from making new connections is never going to have anything good coming from it.

That's one possible meaning. I agree that's a nice way to interpret it. But I'm sure someone as savvy with words as Taylor will be aware that it could also come across differently.

whats that got to do with TS? Why the deflection?! This is what I mean you just can’t say anything. Always has to be deflection or accusations of jealousy or whatever. Literally zero point.

You say deflect. I say compare and contrast.

She does hang around with MAGA supporters - Travis' teammates and their wives (I think) but I don't think she's that way... as far as I know!

In fairness, I don't like the idea of castigating people for who they are friends with if it's just that the friends are of a different political bent. (If the friends are known paedophiles and child sex traffickers that would be different).
I know it's a bit different in America because it feels like a very hard slide to the right and a lot of people are suffering (ICE) etc. I still think expecting people to cut out friends/family for who they vote for is counterproductive in the long run. "Cancel culture" is sometimes used to mean "comedian says racist thing and is called a racist" but if it means expecting people to ditch friendships for how they vote then it's bad.

Plus, there has been so much backlash on celebrity "elites" telling people how to vote. It doesn't necessarily make that much difference and earns a lot of hassle. Maybe she decided to tone it down for that reason?

I think quite a lot of people in America with any kind of public profile at the moment have been quietly advised that any political statements will make them and their families a target for violent nutters.
