Context that my dad said he couldn’t believe I was eating “all that”
don’t judge the oven food, it’s Thursday and I’m tired!

1 too many fishfingers, and missing mayo, but I'd eat that!

The fact that you'd eat less than half the recommended portion at most is just ridiculous to me.

Don't contribute if you can't handle other people's opinions.

Pigriver · 05/02/2026 19:40

Absolutely fine although I'd have 4 fish fingers and make a sandwich.

Those adults saying 2 fish fingers, are you mad?! My kids (6&10) have at least 3 if not 4 for the eldest. 2 is toddler territory.

Is it a perfectly balanced meal, probably not but it's mid week and everyone seems to be ill. I'm shattered so would absolutely eat this. And probably still have a piece of fruit later.

Husband would look for more waffle fries and would certainly have bread and butter. He is depressingly skinny despite a life of eating whatever he likes.

itsneverdullinull · 05/02/2026 19:40

I’d eat that for a main meal. Maybe only 4 fish fingers but that’s only because I don’t like odd numbers.

They probably don’t move much.

I did have sweet chilli sauce but I put that on when I sit down, or it risks sliding into the chips then Envy

The box annoyingly had 10 which is upsetting

That would be a snack in our house. (We're all slimish)
I think it's a big plate.

It's fine. All the food groups are represented. 😆

Enjoy!! 😉

10 annoys me too. 3 is perfect for a fishfinger sandwich, so always one trying to escape into the depths of the freezer. I'm sure it used to be 12.

fishfingergate · 05/02/2026 19:36

They’re potato waffle fries Grin

Ah ok. Maybe marginally better! 😆

Teaandwater · 05/02/2026 19:42

I would have the fish fingers on white bread with mayo. You can keep the veg though 😃 It's not a big portion is this house.

See, this is the sort of thing we need to be challenging! Surely 12 is the right number for a box? Or 24! 🤣

luckylavender · 05/02/2026 19:43

Half of that for me

Neverends1 · 05/02/2026 19:43

I dont think its a large portion size, it looks standard to me.

I'm pretty sure I could eat double that. Im always hungry though!

I hate these plates. Got them in my first house and I keep TRYING to break them to justify buying more as they’re brown and ugh
annoyingly not a single one has broken in 20 years Angry

I’d swap the veg for salad as I can’t stand vegetables unless they are covered in gravy and mint sauce and probably add a couple of slices of bread for a fish finger butty but the amount of food would be fine.,

auserna · 05/02/2026 19:43

AlexandraJJ · 05/02/2026 19:17

A third of that would be enough for me but we’re all different

That didn't take long.

I dont eat huge meals but can easily demolish at least 8 fish fingers. They aren't exactly huge .

I've been known to eat a whole packet of ten, with chips and baked beans.

Yum.

Exactly! I can’t buy more as I’m trying to run the freezer down so I thought well I can’t do 3 or 4 as it’ll leave the wrong amount

It is a big plate. I thought that they were veggie fingers, I usually have 5 veggie fingers.
Not a huge dinner, the only heavy thing is the waffle fries.

Fizbosshoes · 05/02/2026 19:21

Its more than i would eat, im confident my skinny 16 year old DS would eat it.
Awaits lots of replies saying thats enough for their entire family of 4 for a week

Same - my DH would eat it and then go looking for the main course. He’s a skinny 50-odd year old, though.

Saz12 · 05/02/2026 19:45

I could eat that. I'm on the low side of a healthy bmi, but am taller than average, and have always been able to eat loads without gaining weight.

murasaki · 05/02/2026 19:45

Well I for one thank the OP for sorting my lunch for tomorrow. Fishfinger sandwich for the win.
