Context that my dad said he couldn’t believe I was eating “all that”
don’t judge the oven food, it’s Thursday and I’m tired!

All these people saying "half of that at most" - are you really going round eating less than half of the recommended portion sizes?

Even primary schools serve 2-3 fish fingers per kid.

I hate these plates. Got them in my first house and I keep TRYING to break them to justify buying more as they’re brown and ugh

I was literally forced to buy another box the other day as I had 2 left in the old one. That's no use to anyone.

Another competitive undereating thread! Fishfingers are about 60 calories each, so 300 calories for them. By the looks of it no more than about 200-300 calories for the potatoes, and less than 100 for the veg. That’s a light to perfectly normal main meal unless you’re very short, very sedentary, or choose to eat all your calories in wine and chocolate. I’d have 4 fish fingers with two slices of bread and butter for lunch.

Looks fine to me...I've been known to have 6 fish fingers (but obviously only when bought in box with multiples of 3) but I bloody love fish fingers and would probably have with just salad and lashings of tartar sauce or garlic mayo.
2 fish fingers is just silly.

I'd have 3 fishfingers, a portion the size of your veg of peas & sweetcorn, another portion of the same size of brocolli and no waffle chips.

Oh, they're here already. Apparently this is a ridiculously huge portion and they'd all eat 2 fish fingers, 4 fries and some veg and be stuffed 😂

That completely depends on what else you have eaten throughout the day. The diet is a whole picture not just a snapshot.

I wouldn’t ’shovel it down’. But that’s probs because I don't demonise eating and make it feel horribly over indulgent. I’d eat it. Except the peas. Peas are the devil’s veg along with sprouts.

So if I am hungry and shovel it down quickly, that means I demonise eating? Have I misunderstood?

That’s a pretty standard meal size to me. I’d probably eat that but with more veg. I’m normal BMI, healthy appetite. Hope you enjoyed it.
