Context that my dad said he couldn’t believe I was eating “all that”
don’t judge the oven food, it’s Thursday and I’m tired!

Honestly, I just wouldn’t eat that at all. It looks really unappealing to me. I would likely have a fish finger sandwich (3 fingers) and fruit.

It’s not my usual type of meal and TBH I would have had bread but had a sandwich for lunch. Trying to eat up some freezer stuff so I can make a lasagne and freeze it

I think its pretty common for your appetite to reduce as you get older - so makes sense its a suitable serving size for you and too big for your dad.

Go on, I'll play... is the measly pasta portion your dad's? 😮

Wrong!

Yes I know

So if you know you eat less than is healthy for an adult, why comment suggesting the OP was eating too much?

Deadringer · 05/02/2026 19:35

God this reminds me of the bangers and mash thread a few years ago. I said that I thought 2 sausages was very little for an adult and would give that to a small child, one poster said they only gave their child half a sausage. Half a sausage!

MidnightMeltdown · 05/02/2026 19:35

Recommended portion size for fish fingers is 4, so that doesn’t seem excessive if you are especially hungry. I don’t think I’d want them with crisps though. Need proper potatoes!

Wrong!

😮

The one with no veg is your dad's?

I think your dad's is the one without any veg!

You’re reaching. If you’re trying to create drama you picked the wrong audience. It’s very telling you jumped to that

cantthinkofagoodusername1 · 05/02/2026 19:37

My very slim 6 year old would eat that and ask for more

EchoedSilence · 05/02/2026 19:37

One fish finger would fill me up for a week.

anrom1969 · 05/02/2026 19:37

Well , I’d shove all those fish fingers in a cheap white bread sandwich with too much butter. I’d have the veg on the side .

Poppasocks · 05/02/2026 19:37

I'd have had that portion size prior to starting Mounjaro... those fishfingers look grim though sorry! 😅

mindutopia · 05/02/2026 19:37

I couldn’t eat that many fish fingers. Actually not sure I could eat any fish fingers. 🤢 And I’d want more veg, but I don’t think overall it’s a massive portion.

fishfingergate · 05/02/2026 19:36

Well spotted!!!

4 chops though, he's hardly one to comment on 5 fish fingers Grin

Queenoftartts · 05/02/2026 19:38

If I’m starving I would eat most of that. I would have less chips and put the fish fingers on a butty.

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 05/02/2026 19:38

The only thing I would change is to add more potato.

In any form, waffle fries, wedges, just pile them on!

They’re cheap ones but weirdly have less additives and more fish than the £££ ones when I looked
they’re also probably out of date but frozen so…

i wouldn’t eat that much as it won’t leave room for my obligatory after dinner chocolate bar! I also would have had mushy peas…

and solidarity. Thursday is pizza night here

Dimpledaisies · 05/02/2026 19:38

Im a healthy weight, 8.5 stone and 5ft6 and id eat that no problems and want tea and something sweet after 🤣

GalaxyJam · 05/02/2026 19:39

I’m slim (BMI 20ish) and could easily eat that. I’m pretty active though, I guess it would be a lot for sedentary people.
