Context that my dad said he couldn’t believe I was eating “all that”
don’t judge the oven food, it’s Thursday and I’m tired!

A third of that would be enough for me but we’re all different

NuffSaidSam · 05/02/2026 19:19

It's a big portion, but if you're hungry and a healthy weight then it's fine.

Really? Less than 2 fish fingers, a few bits of potato and sone veg?,

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 05/02/2026 19:19

It’s more than I would eat, but everyone has different appetites - and you’ve got plenty of veggies on there, which is good.

Yes

MuddyPawsIndoors · 05/02/2026 19:20

Too big for me (and your dad)

Just right for you 🤷‍♂️

Hope you enjoyed it.

Damnd · 05/02/2026 19:20

Three fingers for me, same veg, less fries

ResusciAnnie · 05/02/2026 19:20

Depends what else you’ve eaten and what you’ve done today and what your body’s needs are really. For me yes that’s too much - I could definitely put it away though!

Fizbosshoes · 05/02/2026 19:21

Its more than i would eat, im confident my skinny 16 year old DS would eat it.
Awaits lots of replies saying thats enough for their entire family of 4 for a week

PopVix · 05/02/2026 19:21

After a long day, I could def shovel that down! Maybe I would choose one fewer fish finger but I could def manage it.

Bluegreenpinkred · 05/02/2026 19:21

I'm middle of my ideal weight range on bmi chart, so I believe I don't understand or over eat. I'd have 2 fishfingers, same amount of veg and half of the potato things.
Dc2 is also middle of ideal weight range and would eat that but probably 3 fishfingers. But dc2 is bigger than me and does more exercise so needs more calories.
So in short I cant answer your question.

Woo383040 · 05/02/2026 19:21

Appetites vary. If that the right amount for you, all good.

Bombinia · 05/02/2026 19:22

That's too many fish fingers for me, and not enough veg, but the potato but looks right. I think it's a big portion but not excessive.

summitfever · 05/02/2026 19:22

I don’t like fish fingers but if that was chicken I’d eat that amount for dinner. I prefer big meals to snacking so no big deal for me. I’m slim so it clearly doesn’t affect my overall calorie intake.

KvotheTheBloodless · 05/02/2026 19:22

I'd eat that, I'm a healthy weight. Perfectly normal amount.

Don't listen to MN competitive undereaters, some people on here have serious food issues.

Dartmoorcheffy · 05/02/2026 19:23

I dont eat huge meals but can easily demolish at least 8 fish fingers. They aren't exactly huge .

Deadringer · 05/02/2026 19:23

I would have a fish finger less and less potato but it doesn't matter does it, just enjoy it. I absolutely hate people commenting on how much/little I am eating, so irritating.
What are those potato things BTW, they look lovely

Ihitthetarget · 05/02/2026 19:23

I'd happily eat that OP, as long as I hadn't already had a big/ late lunch. Enjoy!

CharlotteCollinsneeLucas · 05/02/2026 19:23

I would eat that much. None of it's particularly filling.

If you're tired you eat more to compensate, no?

fishfingergate · 05/02/2026 19:23

I would have done two steam bags but I only had one left! I do like veg (it’s spinach, broccoli, peas and sweetcorn, 160g bag)

That's about 800 kcal of food, just right for an adult woman's evening meal.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 05/02/2026 19:24

I'd eat that plus hope I had a few fries left on the oven tray I could eat and probably another fish finger (with masses of salad cream)

But it doesnt matter what anyone else eats, if that suits your appetite then lob a pea at your dad and enjoy your dinner!

Leon waffle fries, garlic and herb ones
don’t usually buy them but I did an Ocado shop and they were on offer

Our family definitely shovels that amount down,DH and sons all work hard and are starving when they get home from work followed by a whole big trifle each and there as fit as fleas. I would eat that to but I don't eat sweets
