Why is Ghislaine Maxwell remaining silent?

Posting in AIBU for traffic, but I mean ‘AIBU to wonder why she’s not said stuff…”

Is it out of loyalty? Would saying anything incriminate her even further? Will she be freed if she stays silent, and if so how/why?

I also don’t understand how she can’t be encouraged to say something. You’d think she’d be raging inside to be the only person imprisoned and would want that rectifying.

Having read Guiffre's memoir it's clear she had long term PTSD and was plagued with flashbacks. Suicide doesn't seem unlikely.

One thing that does make me wonder though is that she died intestate. Her considerable estate is now being contested by various people including her lawyer. You'd think if she planned to take her own life she would've protected her 3 kids.

Eh, I don't think logic can necessarily be expected of someone who's suffering that much anguish. Poor woman, may she rest.

Dustyblue · 02/02/2026 21:40

@CommonlyKnownAs True, perhaps her tortured thinking just didn't go that far. I do hope her kids aren't shafted on the estate issue though.

It seems like she pined after him to the point of obsession, really.

However I think only her doctors would be able to say if she’s a sex offender because of her obsession with Epstein and wanting to please him, or if she’s simply a sex offender in her own right too (so to speak).

Andrew was a prime idiotic candidate for them, ugly entitled sweaty pig, his disgusting despicable behaviour, him and the rest of them.
I wonder who was funding the lifestyle for Epstein and why. Can’t have been just sex parties.

Any one with any decency would want it all to go to the children rather than fight over it. Poor kids.

The late Queen had a lot to answer for bailing out that miscreant of a son and buying the silence of an abused woman which started in childhood and passed around like a piece of meat round these perverts with money and power

Due to Maxwell’s background, rumour has it he was a spy. But his initial sum of money (if I recall correctly) is because he latched on to a rich old man.

(I’ll put my tinfoil hat away now)

I agree

Sky news has just shown a video of Epstein knelt on a kitchen island work surface then jumping down and chasing two really young girls around. Their faces are redacted but they look extremely young. It's quite revolting

peanutbuttertoasty · 02/02/2026 22:27

The BBC line of reporting seems quite strange… they seem to gloss over it all and say not much has been learned… but then you look elsewhere on the internet and it’s absolutely sickening

justasking111 · 02/02/2026 22:33

I suspect every room in every home Epstein used was bugged. That information would have been very useful to enemy states. I wonder how much they would have paid for it.

ThejustbrothersCarlenaNSoul · 02/02/2026 22:39

@justasking111 Millions + for the right footage of high ranking officials and politicians and movers and shakers in industry and tech.

Daytimetellyqueen · 02/02/2026 22:48

guinnessguzzler · 02/02/2026 14:54

She saw what happened to Epstein and wants to be clear that she can be trusted to keep her mouth shut?

This was my first thought too!

Plus she will need money to live on when she gets out.

Yu can't believe all that's on the internet. People paid to speak, a lot of fake pictures.

TeaAndTattoos · 03/02/2026 02:01

She isn’t going to say anything that could jeopardise any hopes she has for an early release and she will need to save all of her information for when she gets out and writes a book she needs a way to make money when she gets out.

RobertaFirmino · 03/02/2026 04:22

Epstein was killed, Giuffre was killed, Maxwell will be killed too if she pipes up. It all points to the Royal Family in my opinion, it wouldn't be the first time they've had someone who knows far too much despatched.

babyproblems · 03/02/2026 04:48

I think she thinks she’s not done anything wrong… and I think if she speaks up she’ll be in more hot water..

This made me giggle. Good conspiracy theory but I think the royal family aren’t the ones with the ‘most’ at risk in the exposè tbh.
i mean Andrew’s not that important and he’s gone really now so they’re sort of finished with it imo. I don’t think they think Andrew is worth murder!

She’s waiting for a pardon. As soon as Trump leaves office, she’ll probably get one.

Suck up to Trump and there’s a good chance that you or someone close to you will be released, Ms Minaj is the latest, who clearly wants something in return for her sycophancy.

Yep the whole Nikki Minaj thing is strange .
She deffo angling for something

ladyamy · 03/02/2026 06:21

She can’t really say much publicly when she’s in prison

I found ep 1 on youtube & it's very good - but where's the rest of it? Is there anywhere I can hear eps 2-6 without a subscription?

Edited

It’s on Audible, Spotify et, free.

There are much bigger fish than the royal family!!!

Because she doesn't want to go the same way as the others.

Livingthebestlife · 03/02/2026 08:49

What I'm confused about is if she is keeping quiet so that she can write a book, blackmail etc when she gets out, surely most of those involved will either be dead or very old . She'll be well into her late 70s herself. Is she keeping quiet so that she's not murdered, plenty of powerful people who wouldn't think twice about it. Maybe she'll never speak about everything, it's a pity that the information being released is tarnished by the idiots using ai etc people don't know what's true because of it.

PigletJohn · 03/02/2026 09:08

If she ingratiates herself shamelessly with Trump, she might be out in about 2 years, and can set up home in a country with no extradition treaty.

It would seem that a lot of these conspiracy theories are coming true. 🫣
The level of corruption is off the charts.
Afaik, GM is in a low security prison now, probably has a spa and a gym there. Thanks Trump.
How on earth is he still President.

I don't understand how he was allowed stand in the first place, he is hardly an upstanding citizen.
