Am not usually one to post these kinds of threads but this is so sad. I've loved her since childhood and am currently in the middle of a Schitt's Creek binge to take my mind off the usual winter bugs. She was such a fantastic actress and so, so funny.

Bet you are sat at home giving yourself a big pat on the back for being so edgy and cool, when in fact you just look like an idiot who can’t do something as basic as use Google.

What did this person say?

Like a previous poster, I loved her in Beetlejuice and the Day-O dance in particular.

She was a great actress but I also felt she looked like she would just be a lot of fun to be around.

I have never seen Schitts Creek but has been on my To Watch list for a long time.

Whatinthedoopla · 31/01/2026 18:49

What!! I only found out due this post.

She was far too young, and a great actress

I know. If you can’t be kind, say nothing. If you come across a thread about someone who has died, and you genuinely don’t know who they are, you either scroll on, or, you google and offer kind words to those who ARE upset, if you wish to do so.

It was just rude and uncalled for. In my opinion. 😾

@blondebombsite13

ps- I was somewhat “ late to the party”, getting obsessed with SC in first lockdown…. I’m so jealous you have the whole new Moira world ahead of you!

ENJOY!! 💖 🐦‍⬛ 🏨 !

Ah right. Yes, of course. Never understand these people who say that rather than just quickly Google.

Anyway, yes, very much looking forward to Schitts Creek, everybody seems to love it.

@Sisublondie that's gorgeous what she said there... Smile The role she wants to be remembered most for is being a mother to her children. 😘

I have never ever seen Schitts Creek, and have just found it on Netflix. I have watched 3 episodes so far, and I am hooked. It's really good. 😆 The episodes are around 20-22 minutes long each, so a nice easy, enjoyable watch. Loving it so far. Thank you to everyone who has mentioned this. I have heard of it/knew about it, but it never featured on my radar for some reason.

LOVING Moira. 😆😍

Oh my it improves greatly you are in for such a treat

That is sad news. I was watching the John candy documentary recently and she gave the eulogy at his funeral, it was lovely

I was so sad when he died too - they were great together

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 01/02/2026 20:20

I have watched 12 episodes of Schitt's Creek now. Really loving it. 😄

I can't believe I've never watched it before. Still got many episodes to go to. (I think there's 80 in total.) What a treat. Catherine is wonderful in it! They're all good, but she is so funny. 😆

CompetitionMyArse · 02/02/2026 13:02

Honestly, anyone who hasn't yet experienced the utter joy that is Schitt's Creek, you are in for SUCH a treat. It might take some people a few episodes to really click with it, but once you do it will become one of those comfort blanket shows like Friends or Gavin and Stacey, that stays with you for life. Once you've seen the whole thing from beginning to end (and you WILL binge watch for whole, cold rainy Sundays) you can dip in and out in any order and watch the odd episode here or there and it will warm your soul and just feel like coming home.

You will fall totally in love with all the characters, even the ones you hate in the beginning. There are many superbly written and portrayed characters in SC but Moira is the jewel in the crown. There's just no-one like her. She's an absolute icon.

Best wishes, warmest regards.

😉

Ummmmm. Well, then, I must confess to having a full size cutout of him….. in a white suit….! 💖💖💖💖💖!!

…. and a signed copy of “Best Wishes”…… even his writing is gorgeous! And his little dog if you’ve watched the documentary…! Oh, just perfection! 😻

I’m still so bloody upset, I think SC alone brought her into so many lives, bringing so much happiness, even when you’re really feeling crap. I miss her! 💔

FrothyCothy · 08/02/2026 00:49

I’ve started a third or fourth rewatch, she’s just glorious.
