Jogger shoulder barged me today.

I was walking my dog this afternoon, when out of nowhere, a male jogger shoulder barged me. It was very intentional and my shoulder still aches now.

He carried on jogging, and we had the following exchange.

Me: excuse me! You just could have said excuse me!
Him: you took up all the path
Me: thats why you say excuse me! You wouldnt do that to a man.

He jogged futher on then said 'yes I would' and gave me the v's.

I live in a small village so likey to see him again. Should I report?

He was wearing a very distintive jogging outfit, but he kept his back to me, so I could not see his face. His legs were bare, so I could guess he was 60 plus as they were old man legs.

I feel like I was assulted!

I wouldn't bothered reporting but if I saw him again I would very definitely get in his way. What an A-hole!

I’ve seen a rage jogger before. I once saw a man wearing only tiny shorts, run passed a kids playground, into a queue for an ice cream van and he screamed at a young boy standing in “the way”. Horrific!

I would keep an eye out for him, whether you can report him I’m not sure

You were assaulted deliberately, report to police with a description

It's not a man versus woman thing, but there are more men likely to be guilty of the "my stats are the most important thing in the world right now, get out of my way" than women.

OP I have just started a thread about lack of male awareness. My DD gets this regularly when commuting. She’s been shoulder barged lots of times even when there is a wide pavement . You were right to call him out but not everyone is so brave. Im not sure reporting will do much but maybe a local Facebook page will shame him?

When you see him again take a photo and report him. He sounds like a total arse who deserves to be called out. And I bet he wouldn’t have barged a man, either.

I live in a village with a high % of elderly people, so with my dog walking coat and hood up, he likely thought I was an old lady. That really annoyed me!

The force would have toppled an older person.

Yes, put it on Facebook anonymously and I would very deliberately go back to that place and wait to be in his way again, with some choice words rehearsed! If he tries it again then you can report him to the police.
Or barge him back.

and she just jogged on, didn’t even acknowledge me, like I was utterly unworthy of even a backward glance

You were assaulted and yes of course running into someone hard enough that they go away with a hurt shoulder is violence.

I’ve really noticed an increase in shoulder barging by men recently. It’s happened to me several times.

I was told to embrace your inner Italian footballer. Don’t be polite and try to recover your gait. Hit the deck rolling, wailing and crying. Fucking treat arsehole physical shoving behaviour like it deserves to be treated.

I would be fucking upset! And would express that.

Shoulder barging someone is assault.

People barge everywhere. Its becoming common to just shove your way through life.
