I don't know if my mum rage is out of control but I went to Asda pizza counter and they were closing so I was told as soon as I joined the queue of 2 people that they were shut. They don't display time and the lights were on, so I was a bit annoyed.

I went to look at the premade pizzas, very annoyed but I didn't say anything to the lady. She then asked how many pizzas I wanted, I reminded her she was shut so why does it matter.

Aibu - either shut and be shut, or serve people?

I would be disappointed, sure. But I'd also know she's doing her job. If she suddenly offered to make them anyway, I'd be delighted and grateful. I'd thank her profusely and smile. And she'd feel good that she'd done a good turn.

Honestly, you sound like a complete horror who needs some lessons on what does and doesn’t constitute rudeness, or a personality transplant. Saying “it’s not rude” doesn’t make it not rude.

She told you she was closing because she was. It’s not her fault you attended the counter late. I think most, if not all, people would know the pizza counter isn’t open the same hours the store is. She’s perfectly within her rights to close the counter on time. That is NOT rude.

She then asked how many you were looking for, which she didn’t need to do, because she was closed and entitled to clock off from the pizza counter. Any reasonable person could take from that that perhaps she was suggesting that if you’re only needing one, she could do it quickly, but if you needed several, she wouldn’t be able/willing to stay back for that. She doesn’t need to explicitly say that for it to be abundantly clear. Or perhaps she was taken aback by your OTT reaction/face like thunder at having to buy premade pizzas when you’ve attended the counter late.
