I don't know if my mum rage is out of control but I went to Asda pizza counter and they were closing so I was told as soon as I joined the queue of 2 people that they were shut. They don't display time and the lights were on, so I was a bit annoyed.

I went to look at the premade pizzas, very annoyed but I didn't say anything to the lady. She then asked how many pizzas I wanted, I reminded her she was shut so why does it matter.

Aibu - either shut and be shut, or serve people?

Because the offer would have come next, after hearing your answer to her question. If you had said one or two she would have offered to make you them. If you had said twelve she would have said i can make you one or two but not twelve. As you were rude she didn't offer to make any.

... she hadn't got her bus fare home, and was going to tap you for however much you would've spent on pizzas
... OR, she was wondering if she could still squeeze your order in after hours?

I mean, you do you, but I cannot fathom how you realistically assumed she was being rude. Why DO you think she asked, then?

Seriously, why on earth do you think she was asking you how many pizzas you wanted? Do you really think she was just being nosy? What possible further context could be needed? They only possible reason for her asking was so that she could make you your flipping pizzas.

There are reasons someone might say they couldn't help, but then offer to. Shockingly this might have been kindness. Even more shockingly people probably do this less because of customers like you who think they're being clever by reacting like you did...and then posting about it on the Internet.
