Why do men hate women so much?

I’m on the larger side, a size 18. Walking back from work with my headphones in and on my phone and a guy leans out of his car window (passenger side) in slow moving traffic, barks at me like a dog and calls me a fat bitch. Him and his mates in the car then crack up at it and find themselves absolutely hilarious as they’re crawling along next to me.

I know it’s silly to be so upset by it because it’s such a silly thing for them to do, but they took me by surprise and gave me a fright and I just don’t get it. Why are men like this?

Men’s physical strength is a seriously under acknowledged factor. Subconsciously men know women are weaker and therefore easy to bully as we physically can’t fight back. See also rates of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault.

About 25 years ago, I got stuck in a car with similar men, they were driving around the streets, shouting at gueriers/addicts, shouting out sneery remarks at skinny, poor looking men. The perpetrator is doing it to impress the other lads, look how Alpha I am.

It was scary, I left as quickly as I could, and was too shocked to say anything.

A very large % of men can't. I had a tradesman carry out work, he fucked a bit of it up, I asked him to come back, which he did eventually, but we exchanged loads of messages where he just talked bollocks and never once admitted he'd been less than amazing. In fact, tried to tell me I was wrong at one point!

A male friend helped me with something, he damaged my wall and ripped wallpaper. I was annoyed and called him out. He said, oh just blame me! I replied that I would blame him because it was his fault. Did he apologise? No.

Yep, I agree with this. And they do it because they can. Even when they kill women, the consequences don't always match the action.

You do know that men commit most of the violent and sexual crime? The overwhelming stats just make your statement sound ill informed and a bit silly.

Online? Social media is cess pit and worst of it certainly doesn't represent the majority of decent people in the real world, men or otherwise.

In person? What happened to you was awful behavior, but it was one group of idiots in a car. Imagine how thick they must be to have found that amusing? Not worth a second thought.

Our worldviews are shaped by out experiences so it's not unreasonable to get down about stuff like this if you've had your share of bad experiences. But I think it's a bit defeatist to judge all men (or any group) by their worst as become resigned to that point of view.

They are unhappy witb their lives so they look for ways to decimate women , to make them smaller. Do you really not think there is more evidence of men harming women through hatred than vice versa? Statistics re violence, sexual assault, harassment and murder back up that this absolutely is a gendered issue. That doesn’t mean all men are vile or no women are vile. Seems silly to deny the reality that is backed up by statistics.
