Why do men hate women so much?

I’m on the larger side, a size 18. Walking back from work with my headphones in and on my phone and a guy leans out of his car window (passenger side) in slow moving traffic, barks at me like a dog and calls me a fat bitch. Him and his mates in the car then crack up at it and find themselves absolutely hilarious as they’re crawling along next to me.

I know it’s silly to be so upset by it because it’s such a silly thing for them to do, but they took me by surprise and gave me a fright and I just don’t get it. Why are men like this?

Many years ago I got a barrage of filth from some men in a company van in a queue of traffic . I took a pen and piece of paper out of my bag and wrote down the van’s registration and company name . They shit themselves. Another incident I had two men up ladders side by side calling me a fucking slag as I walked by . I asked them to repeat what they said as my husband what like to hear it and he was round the corner . They shit themselves. Cowards underneath.

nah. I know lots of women who have said that about their sons. And i have heard my daughters, and the other girls they know name them as some of the fucking scroates who have pestered them for nudes.

It’s not you it’s them. I had a guy describe me as a pig once. It was years ago and I remembered it. I was young, slim and pretty when I look back. But it knocked my confidence. I didn’t know him I was just walking past. I was dressed up ready to meet my friends. But I never forgot it. Hold your head high op it says a lot more about their behaviour and who they are.

If you really think about it, imagine being such an utter amoeba that you would behave like that. or laugh at someone else behaving like that.

They aren't really men: they are just gooberish losers. Just be glad you don't have such a non-existence that that is entertainment for you.

I feel like emailing some mothers to tell them how fabulous their late teen sons are. Then some boys are absolute misogynistic twats.

I think that sometimes there's an element of these losers being at the bottom of the heap amongst men and are resentful. Their pick of women is probably very limited and so they actively reject and undermine women.

With some, I also think there's a sense of entitlement and as a PP said upthread, the expectation that women are just there to serve men.

OP, it could have been any one of us and they'd pick up on anything they thought might be a vulnerability. I've had my 'saggy arse' commented on before whilst out running (it's not saggy, it's flat, thank you very much 🤣) and been called a stuck up bitch for not wanting to engage in a lewd conversation with a complete stranger.

They're pathetic excuses for human beings and they're deeply threatened by women (in genereal) standing for less of their shit.

They are both men. There's a very strong likelihood that they are not the gentle, kind, considerate, young princes who 'understand their moral reponsibilities' that you imagine they are ... When you're not around/not in earshot, I guarantee their behaviour is different to how you believe it is..........

Yep! Many mothers of sons just refuse to believe that their precious little princes are anything other than absolute Angels, who are terribly lovely and kind and sweet to all women, even in front of all their mates, and male peers.

I have spent much of my life outside the UK and have never experienced this abroad.
To me its a UK phenomenon to yell at women from the safety of a passing car. And Im a red head so have "gingerrrrr" yelled at me from too many cars in the UK. But never a peep anywhere else.

The not all men crowd are probably the same people who wouldn't allow their young teenage daughters to walk alone in the dark wearing nothing but shorts and a vest top , and you have to wonder why that is 🤔. What or rather who are they afraid of ?

Nobody is saying that most abuse towards women is from men. I am simply saying it’s not all men. Of course it’s not , that’s a ridiculous statement.

No I wouldn't say that to a young girl but that's the truth. Sometimes they resent having a response provoked in them.
