Elsraspberry · 11/12/2025 18:31

I am 30 and probably one of the youngest. Id say there is a wide range from my age to mid 40s.

Mariammaom · 11/12/2025 18:33

I was 35

My son was year 1 last year and I was 47.

Another mum from his class is 52.

Other mums are in their mid/late 20s

52 Shock

Imagine going through the menopause with pre schoolers!

My first child I was 28, my fourth 38. In those days there was a wide age range from early 20's to 40ish.
It does depend where you live though. My GC's school has a wide range, not so many very young now, though quite a lot who are new immigrants and are young. My DD was 39, my DIL 26.

LouiseK93 · 11/12/2025 18:51

Im 32, my middle DD is in year one. When my baby who is 10 months rn starts year one I will be 37. I was 25 when my eldest was in year one.

Fluffypotatoe123987 · 11/12/2025 18:52

Londonrach1 · 11/12/2025 18:53

CraftyPlayer · 11/12/2025 18:55

Syida · 11/12/2025 18:56

With my youngest I was 38 and with my eldest I was 43.

BKBH · 11/12/2025 18:57

I’ll be 40 when my eldest is Y1

MelrosePlace12 · 11/12/2025 18:58

36 with my eldest (Y1 now) and I'll be 41 with my youngest. Think both ages are within average nowadays! X

Hele4578 · 11/12/2025 18:58

My son is in year 1. I'm 47.

Isthisreasonable · 11/12/2025 19:04

I was 51.

Aghhhhhhhhhh · 11/12/2025 19:06

I was 23 when my eldest started in year 1, 32 when my middle started year 1 and il be 37 when my youngest starts year 1. Currently my eldest is 1st year college, middle is year 4 and youngest is nursery.

CleoFigaro · 11/12/2025 19:06

I was 29 but there's no right or wrong age, just depends on how life pans out and when you have a baby.

Isthisreasonable · 11/12/2025 19:10

Isthisreasonable · 11/12/2025 19:04

I was 51.

Some of the dads were a decade older than me and on their second family. It was sometimes difficult on the PTA planning events that would appeal to parents who were anywhere between early 20s and early 60s

Reddevil666 · 11/12/2025 19:14

I'm 47 and my son is 5

OnTheMotherhoodJourney · 11/12/2025 19:15

Well I was 22 when my now eldest DD was in yr 1. My youngest (twins) are now in yr 1 and I’m 37. My other DS is the middle child. I’ll probably be doing the school run for 26 years straight as my twin DS goes specialist school. I can’t say there’s a perfect age but I know I’m over it already 🫠

SouthwarkLass · 11/12/2025 19:23

I was 43 when ds was in Reception. There was quite a range but I was not the only 'more mature' Mum

MisiSam · 11/12/2025 19:26

I have one in reception and one in year 2. And a newborn. I'm 38;
