When my oldest enters year 1 I'll be 34, and DH will be 37.

YANBU as even I wish I had children younger in a more ideal world.

andfinallyhereweare · 10/12/2025 22:54

37

Cherryicecreamx · 10/12/2025 22:55

My DS is in year 1 and I'm 27. Admittedly I'm one of the youngest, I chat to mum's in their 30s and 40s.

Pleasegodgotosleep · 10/12/2025 22:58

I was 36 and 39 when my kids were born so 40 and 43. Will be 51 by the time yougest leaves primary school 😆

eone · 10/12/2025 22:58

I was 28

Lemonyyy · 10/12/2025 23:00

I would’ve been 25, then 29 then 31. I was one of, if not the youngest in every year, far more mums in their 40s than their 20s!

missymousey · 10/12/2025 23:02

I have a child in year 2, I'm 44. I'm one of the oldest but I'm not bothered really. One of the mums is only 23, I think she feels even more of an outlier than me.

EconomyClassRockstar · 10/12/2025 23:04

When my eldest was in year one, I was 28. When my youngest was in the equivalent of year one, I was 36. When I was in year one, my Mum was 41. When my sister's youngest was in year one, she was 47. It really doesn't matter!

89redballoons · 10/12/2025 23:05

I'm 39 and my eldest is in Y1. Will be 44/45 by the time the youngest is.

numbandexhausted · 10/12/2025 23:05

My middle son is in year 1, I’m 30. When eldest was in year 1 I was 25 and when youngest is in year 1 I’ll be 32.

pitterypattery00 · 10/12/2025 23:06

I'm 46 and my son is in Yr 1. Out of the 60 mums, the vast majority I'd estimate are in their 40s. I know 2 have just turned 50. The younger ones I'm pretty sure are all still 35+ with one exception who looks late 20s.

Smugglerstop · 10/12/2025 23:08

I have twins in year 4. I'm 51 and don't feel old. There's a mum older than me in same class.

If you're healthy it doesn't matter.

Cel77 · 10/12/2025 23:09

Mine was Year 1 last year and I was 46/47.
I'm not feeling too old even though my daughter's friends' mums are ranging from 30 to 42 years old.
I also have a 10 years old in Y6.

user2848502016 · 10/12/2025 23:12

I’d have been 39 when my youngest was in year 1, 42 isn’t unusual at all

Redpeach · 10/12/2025 23:12

Women worrying what age they are and yet no-one questions fathers age

One of the Dads in year 2 was 63. He has a younger child too.

ViolaChomp · 10/12/2025 23:39

My youngest daughter i was 36

Thepossibility · 11/12/2025 05:05

42

Jassummer · 11/12/2025 05:20

I have twins in year 3 and I’ve just turned 32 and partner is 33. We are definitely some of the younger parents in the playground, the majority are in their 40s (we are in the south)

XWKD · 11/12/2025 05:22

My mother was early 40s, and my aunt late 40s.

MeAndTheDoggo · 11/12/2025 05:23

39 for the first, 42 for the second. A move of schools and the average has dropped so in now around 5 years older than the other mums. Not sure if that’s a thing though or just about birth rate and how many have older sibs vs younger ones

ToffeePennie · 11/12/2025 05:27

I was 27 and 30.
My bestie was 23,24,27 and 30.

1984Winston · 11/12/2025 07:33

One of mine is in year 1 and I'm 41, most of the mums I would say are a similar age
