To complain that my pizza wasn’t cut for me?

Spent £30 with Papa John’s. Love their pizzas. Special garlic sauce is amazing!

Anyway, they didn’t cut my pizza. AIBU to have complained through the Just Eat App?

Have been told by the cocky manager to consider buying a pizza cutter

Have them semi regularly as a treat and they’re always cut into slices, as most take away are!

H thinks I’m being silly.

Obviously this isn’t a world shattering issue, of course. But interested to see if I’m unreasonably unfair here to complain

This!

Oh dear you both really think this is the same?

Cutting a pizza is not a fundamental ingredient of a pizza.

This is like asking someone to pump up your tyres and they've forgotten to replace the dust cap. The air is still in the tyre

It takes ten seconds. God forbid they make a mistake that doesn’t affect the quality of the food in any way. Is it too much to expect of vaguely competent people to cut up a pizza?

You've never made a single mistake in your working life then? Wow - I am surprised you are not running the country with your unblemished employment record!

Running the country is definitely the job for those with blemished work histories lol

But on reflection, you are right. It is a mistake. And an easy one to make that is essentially harmless

Feel a bit bad as the usual delivery man is sweet as pie to me and always so polite

I started off thinking who the fuck can be bothered to complain about this. Then I remembered last time I ordered pizza I was staying in a hotel and I would have been very pissed off if they didn't cut it.

Ifailed · 21/11/2025 20:40

Just use your knife and fork like any adult would do to eat pizza.

malmi · 21/11/2025 20:41

I’d be annoyed if I effectively paid for 12 slices and basically only got one even if it’s bigger it’s not what you paid for

ImogenBrocklehurst · 21/11/2025 20:42

Haven’t read the full thread, but FFS!
Is this really the worst thing that’s happening to you? 🙄

Wow there are two of them out there

helpfulperson · 21/11/2025 20:42

In Italy they don't cut your pizza for you.

But given that you say you often get Papa John's and they are normally cut surely it is obvious this is just a mistake and someone has forgotten to do it rather than being their policy to not cut them

Well I was being a bit tongue in cheek about running the country - particular this week!!

I like that you might have turned a corner though, your response was fairly decent.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your meal!

NormaNormalPants · 21/11/2025 20:44

Given the price I’d expect it to be cut for sure. Not sure I’d go to the effort of leaving shitty feedback though.

sonjadog · 21/11/2025 20:44

This happened to me last week. I used the kitchen scissors to cut it up. That was all.

Weeken · 21/11/2025 20:44

It should have been ready to eat. You might not have had any utensils where you'd ordered the food to and you can't very well be expected to lift and bite into the entire thing.

Hopefully this person will have a full disadulation for their crime.

You sound like a harridan. I feel sorry for people in your sphere if this is how you think. It’s quite shocking.

Mrstawnyowl · 21/11/2025 20:47

I’m not much cop at using a pizza cutter. I’m not much better with a fabric rotary cutter either (for fabric, not pizza!)

I suppose the staff just forgot to cut your pizza but it’s not really worthy of a complaint.

FlyingApple · 21/11/2025 20:55

Good job you're not on holiday or in a hotel then as you likely wouldn't have access to a pizza cutter. Strange practice from the restaurant.

Anywherebuthere · 21/11/2025 20:56

How would you cope with real problems?
Use a knife.

Someone mentioned 'ick'. Anyone who complains over uncut pizza would give me the ick. (Obviously not including anyone that was physically able to do that themselves)

BettysRoasties · 21/11/2025 20:56

I mean when we were in the middle of moving house and decorating this would of been really annoying as we had no cutlery at the house we were painting which was the one we ordered take away to because no kitchen items yet.

would of had to rip it like savages or gone all hungry hippo on it 😅

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 21/11/2025 20:57

YABU, and ridiculous. You are probably only going to respond to posters who agree with you though.

martinagiraffe · 21/11/2025 20:58

People would actually cut their pizza with scissors in this scenario?

Wow.

Icepinkeskimo · 21/11/2025 20:59

What did you want? Someone to drive over and cut your pizza for you?
This is ridiculous.

Starandflowers · 21/11/2025 21:01

martinagiraffe · 21/11/2025 20:58

Wow.

Yes as it’s much easier than a pizza cutter. I always use scissors to cut pizza when it needs cut

Most people I know do too if I have been to their house where pizza is on the go

Marvelettesyouremyremedy · 21/11/2025 21:02

How could you be arsed!
Just use scissors to cut then munch it.
