To complain that my pizza wasn’t cut for me?

YourBluntAnt · 21/11/2025 20:13

Spent £30 with Papa John’s. Love their pizzas. Special garlic sauce is amazing!

Anyway, they didn’t cut my pizza. AIBU to have complained through the Just Eat App?

Have been told by the cocky manager to consider buying a pizza cutter

Have them semi regularly as a treat and they’re always cut into slices, as most take away are!

H thinks I’m being silly.

Obviously this isn’t a world shattering issue, of course. But interested to see if I’m unreasonably unfair here to complain

Cut your own pizza

Chocolateforbreakfasttoday · 21/11/2025 23:36

Coeliac here. Pizzas are never cut for us. Have never thought to complain!

bigfacthunter · 21/11/2025 23:46

I’d complain. Pizza delivery is the kind of thing you order if you don’t have access to cutlery (work meeting, just moved house, kids party at a venue). These guys need to keep on top of the cutting, it’s part of the deal.

Orlastuff · 21/11/2025 23:48

Stop whinging OP

BerryTwister · 21/11/2025 23:48

If you order from there regularly, I think you may find your pizza comes with a special topping in future….

LiveLuvLaugh · 21/11/2025 23:52

They should have cut it. Why wouldn’t you complain - it’s not like it was free. It’s a first world problem, but you arent saying it isn’t. Cutting it yourself with a sharp pizza cutter would be easy but with scissors would be messy.

viques · 22/11/2025 00:02

Will uncutted up pizza become the new MN cutted up pear? Are we witness to a new meme?

So excited to think I was here as a witness , well four hours late, but close enough.

MincePudding · 22/11/2025 00:06

His response would wind me up so I'd be petty enough to screenshot the front page of their website, which shows a cut pizza, a screenshot of the managers response and send it to head office with a faux-naive message about thinking the pizza might be cut given the pic on their website but the local manager of X store seems to think you should buy one and ask them what their central view is.

Rude twat.

Oh, and for all he knows you could have arthritis or other hand issues which is why you ordered a pizza based on the picture so its not a case of having a pizza wheel, it's about an ability to operate it.

There's no way they don't have a pizza wheel so he plain just doesn't give a fuck.

OonaStubbs · 22/11/2025 00:34

If you pay £30 for a pizza, it should be cut. If you wanted an uncut pizza you could buy one in the supermarket for a fraction of the cost.

As others have said, get a life. If that’s all you have to worry about, you’re doing pretty well.

WiddlinDiddlin · 22/11/2025 04:06

I do like pizza managers response.

If I complained that my pizza wasn't cut, I would absolutely be told my delivery driver would be round to cut it up and asked if I wanted her to feed it to me ... airplane stylee...

I should probably stop ordering from where my sister works.

I did once mention (not as a complaint, just to my sister) that I had NOT recieved the promised chocolate sauce for the giant hot melty cookie-with-chocolate-sauce I had ordered.

Next time I ordered it I got a huge takeaway donner kebab sized tray full of chocolate sauce, triple wrapped in bags with 'is this enough sauce?' on it. Sarky sods.

I agree.

if I spend silly money on a pizza I want it edible from the sofa
i am not messing around with pizza wheels or scissors - as mentioned upthread! 🤯

Agree also

Pizza is the ultimate lazy takeaway. Order an Indian or Chinese and you got the effort of plating up and dishes to wash after. If paying premium prices for a pizza then I want it ready to go straight from the box.

Had this happen to me from dominos once years back. Was irritated, dont have a pizza cutter or scissors to didn't take just a few seconds to correct their error. Didn't complain though. Not much point as it was just an oversite in a busy service. Pizza was otherwise great.

I did complain about my order the time before last though, as they sent an entirely different pizza to the 1 i ordered. They give me a discount code for next time. As no replacement was offered I just had to eat what given, even though didn't like the toppings and ruined the taste even picking them off (jalapeños 🤢). Next time come around and they got it wrong again. Wrong sauce, wrong toppings. Didn't bother to complain, but won't order from them again

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/11/2025 05:10

Yes, of course you just cut your pizza.
But. The manager was out of line.
What a jerk.
Report them to the franchiser for poor service and the rudeness.

Titasaducksarse · 22/11/2025 05:57

Please don't go to Italy and have pizza. You'll not cope with the disappointment that it's never pre cut.

Italian pizza is completely different to getting a papa John's or dominos. An Italian pizza would be eaten with a knife and fork. Do you eat a dominos with a knife and fork?

Westfacing · 22/11/2025 06:09

I assumed from the thread title that the OP was being light-hearted... but no, she is serious!

Anywherebuthere · 21/11/2025 20:56

How would you cope with real problems?
Use a knife.

Someone mentioned 'ick'. Anyone who complains over uncut pizza would give me the ick. (Obviously not including anyone that was physically able to do that themselves)

Unable

HellsBalls · 22/11/2025 07:33

My local pizza delivery place only cut the pizza if you click the ‘cut pizza’ box.
They recommend not to cut delivered pizzas. Maybe so they don’t come apart while on route.

What are you ....5 ???
So it wasn't cut into slices....so what .
I bet it still tasted the same. And I bet you managed to eat it.
Fucks sake.....

Good grief. If everyone constantly complained to businesses about everything that wasn’t exactly to their satisfaction no one would ever be able to do anything.
