To complain that my pizza wasn’t cut for me?

Spent £30 with Papa John’s. Love their pizzas. Special garlic sauce is amazing!

Anyway, they didn’t cut my pizza. AIBU to have complained through the Just Eat App?

Have been told by the cocky manager to consider buying a pizza cutter

Have them semi regularly as a treat and they’re always cut into slices, as most take away are!

H thinks I’m being silly.

Obviously this isn’t a world shattering issue, of course. But interested to see if I’m unreasonably unfair here to complain

Yabu, it's Friday night so presumably busy and they've just missed the cutting step. Presuming it's the correct pizza order and everything was edible? You can use a knife...or scissors if you don't have a pizza cutter.

MumoftwoNC · 21/11/2025 20:19

Use scissors

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 21/11/2025 20:20

I'd think any decent pizza place would cut their pizza. Like putting sauce or cheese it as standard.

HeddaGarbled · 21/11/2025 20:21

It’s one of those teeny tiny niggles that bothering to mention in a review makes you look like a dick.

Suntots · 21/11/2025 20:22

Total non issue. I expect the manger thought you were angling for a refund or something because I can’t think why else you’d complain over something so trivial. Maybe I might give feedback (not a complaint) if they never cut it, but for a one off it’s ridiculous.

Thepeopleversuswork · 21/11/2025 20:22

I think you are being a bit silly tbh.

I always wonder who has time and energy to complain about stuff like this. Think of all the things you could have been doing when you had your nose in your phone or laptop making yourself pointlessly angry over something you were never going to win.

Just isn’t worth the grief.

Hankunamatata · 21/11/2025 20:23

I can't believe you complained about pizza not being cut.

lowo · 21/11/2025 20:25

I’d think urgh annoying for ten seconds while grabbing the kitchen scissors, absolutely cba complaining over something so small, totally over the top

Yanbu id be pissed of to papa johns is expensive i expect it to come ready to eat out the box you shouldn't have to mess about cutting it up yourself

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 21/11/2025 20:27

Jesus fucking Christ.
That's enough Mumsnet for me tonight.

RocknRollBand · 21/11/2025 20:28

It’s just a mistake. It wouldn’t cross my mind to complain about it. They probably thought you were joking.

TheTortiePuffinNeedsHerBreakfast · 21/11/2025 20:28

I would be momentarily irritated and yes, they should have cut it, but I wouldn't have the energy or inclination to take it further.

It takes ten seconds. God forbid they make a mistake that doesn’t affect the quality of the food in any way. Is it too much to expect of vaguely competent people to cut up a pizza?

WiddlinDiddlin · 21/11/2025 20:29

It's a minor error, not their standard procedure.

Its taken you more time to complain, then come and tell us about it, than it would have to just cut the pizza yourself!

I certainly would not bother complaining about a tiny oversight like this! What would you like them to do to resolve it? Pop round with a pizza cutter, or bring you another pizza and take this uncut and thus utterly useless one back?

A refund really isn't warranted here, you did get what you ordered after all!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 21/11/2025 20:29

It would have taken longer to complain than to cut it up. I think you’re over thinking this.

FelixDoublyDelicious · 21/11/2025 20:30

No words. Poor you, your pizza wasn't cut🙄

Personally I'd prefer to do it myself and actually have a square or rectangualr pizza rather than round

TwinkleTwinkleLittleBatgirl · 21/11/2025 20:31

Next time, take the diamond shoes off first, when they’re too tight it inhibits pizza cutting actions..

TeaAndTattoos · 21/11/2025 20:31

Are you being serious you complained because your pizza hadn’t been cut up unless your 6 you should be able cut up your own pizza and buy a pizza cutter.

ChilliMochaCoco · 21/11/2025 20:31

Was the pizza good though?

how can op know?! Clearly can’t eat it uncut!!

Laylah2 · 21/11/2025 20:33

Brilliant response from the manager - that made me LOL!

Arlanymor · 21/11/2025 20:33

It's Friday, they are busy, they are staffed by humans and made a mistake. The fact you would even complain about it... just marks you out as a lazy old so and so (and likely serial complainer). Are you always perfect in your job? I think what the manager put was hilarious and on the nose.

PeonyPatch · 21/11/2025 20:33

This post itself gives me the ick. 😂
