Humiliated in restaurant

Out for a meal last night with family/wider family. Starters all came at different points and a couple of issues with the mains too (forgetting sides). I had a polite word with the waitress who was apologetic. DH felt this was unnecessary.

Bill was brought over by a man and he apologised for the issues and said they were very busy with new staff getting used to things before December. Apology was directed to me.

DH said ‘sorry mate, she’s due on’ and laughed. Man didn’t react and awkwardly said he’d get the card machine.

DH maintains today I was being unreasonable and he attempted to diffuse things with humour!

I was thinking how revolting this was....then I read your update and felt sick. Why are you still with this horrendous man. You deserve so so much better.

"Supportive replies"? why would you want supportive replies?! you mean supporting you to accept this behaviour? And just wow - posters saying that the poor man was simply embarrassed. I have no words. Pity the disgusting H doesn't feel the same.

I wouldn't be going to any more restaurants with him, that's for sure. Or sleeping with him. Or tbh having anything to do with him.

Quite tempting though to wait the next time he's tetchy with some one and apologise for him, saying "sorry, he's a bit grumpy, hasn't been able to get it up lately."

Its perfectly okay to complain politely about poor service in a restaurant, and it sounds like your comments were handled well by the management.
