correct me if I have missed anything here on this… but has the news gone quiet on the woman who was attacked unprovoked in Birmingham? Do we know who done it?!

Your point being?

"Regarding the comment above about women, aren’t men statistically more likely to be the victim of violent crime, particularly violence from strangers?"

What was the point to this?

Whatnowsheila · 09/11/2025 00:43

Well, that’s just really….nonsensical….

Nowhere near as nonsensical (or bigoted) as your original comment.

Trying to find out the relevance of her comment.

This is getting repetitive.

You've obviously got nothing to say

Good night

Why are people jumping on the OP with smartarse comments? Do you understand that someone has been stabbed? Some of us are interested in the details of this because we live in Birmingham and want to know what's happened.

Whenever something like this happens, bad faith threads inevitably pop up (or innocent ones are hijacked) 'speculating' on the race/religion/nationality/immigration status of the perpetrator, or suggesting a cover-up if that information isn't immediately forthcoming.

Kimura · 09/11/2025 01:49

Mewling · 08/11/2025 23:49

Why is your title “Birmingham Attack Gone Quiet?!” when it’s on the front page of the BBC app? Are you trying to imply some kind of cover up? Just out of curiosity, what part of Birmingham is your family located?

If you'd read OPs posts she says she'd only checked the DM before posting.

Their website is an absolute eyesore and they only posted the story at 23:11, so it's feasible that it wasn't appearing at the top of their homepage when OP checked.

And why on earth should she tell you where her family is located? Not really sure what you're hoping to gain from asking...if she was trying to shit stir she'd just pick one and you'd be none the wiser?

AlwaysHopefull89 · 09/11/2025 00:01

As mentioned I’ve checked and couldn’t find anything, I’ve checked other news websites and also no luck.

Edited

Do you not use google? I’ve just typed ‘Birmingham stabbing’ and the latest news about it is on multiple sites. You couldn’t find anything? It’s quite difficult to believe so I can see why posters are suspicious of your motives in the current climate.

EsmeMulligan · 09/11/2025 02:43

BluntPlumHam · 09/11/2025 00:28

There have been two racially aggravated rapes in Bham that the news has gone ‘quiet’ on. Why don’t you make a thread on that op?

Why don't you?

LindorDoubleChoc · 09/11/2025 04:06

Ah, Mumsnet at it's finest 🙄

MyIvyGrows · 09/11/2025 04:14

ProudPearl · 08/11/2025 23:39

There's nothing wrong with asking a question. If people have no information they can just scroll on by. If they do have information they could just share it without the attitude.
People can be such twats!

Check a news source, not mumsnet!

ThatBlackCat · 09/11/2025 04:22

MyIvyGrows · 09/11/2025 04:14

Check a news source, not mumsnet!

You could say that about anything and everything. Then there would be no point to mumsnet. Or any online forums.

randomchap · 09/11/2025 00:38

Your point being?

I would have thought it was perfectly obvious. That male violence is the issue.

Agreed. Women are held hostage to male violence, because for the most part we don’t have their violent natures.

MyIvyGrows · 09/11/2025 05:16

@ThatBlackCat a discussion is entirely different to a dubious “I can’t find any facts about this current issue” post which - in agreement with several others on the thread - I think means the OP has an agenda.

Sometimeswinning · 09/11/2025 05:19

CalmShaker · 08/11/2025 23:32

Disgusting comment, you should be ashamed

Women and children can be attacked or killed, makes no difference to this persons agenda.

It's admittedly an odd place to ask the question, as opposed to another social media platform like Facebook.

I do often see people using social media as an alternative to Google to be fair, and I guess someone not as tech savvy might treat all social platforms the same way.

Or OP could just be full of it 🤣

CurlewKate · 09/11/2025 05:37

Seems unlikely that a simple request for information with no agenda would end “?!”

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 09/11/2025 06:22

So as long as the male is ‘British national’ there’s nothing to see here? Just another common or garden neck stabbing whilst trying to use public transport. My we’re all so laissez-faire about life now aren’t we? It almost smacks of desensitisation.

Sometimeswinning · 09/11/2025 05:19

Makes no difference to many people’s agenda. We’re easily replaceable it seems.

Linenpickle · 09/11/2025 06:33

A British national doesn’t necessarily mean they were born in the UK.

nellietheellie75 · 09/11/2025 06:34

A quick google would have given you the answer. He is a British national.
