correct me if I have missed anything here on this… but has the news gone quiet on the woman who was attacked unprovoked in Birmingham? Do we know who done it?!

It’s okay OP if you want some outrage over Birmingham attacks, perhaps you want to look at the two racist rape attacks on British Sikh women that happened in the last month by white British racist men. Whist raping the women they also racially abused them, violently beat them and in the second case also robbed them.

oh but doesn’t suit your demographic right?

I was reading about that earlier, it's just appalling. According to this article

Birmingham attacks

a stun gun was recently used in an attack on a woman. It's horrific.

‘The fear is real’: how Midlands attacks have changed Sikh women’s daily lives

Many women are afraid to go out, particularly on their own, after religiously aggravated rapes and assaults

It's Bimingham, so terrifyingly nihilistic gang initiation is also a possibility. I'm really familiar with this part of Bimingham so the fact that it happened right by the shops and the station at such a busy time of the evening is just disturbing. The fact that she was stabbed in the neck. It feels like there are so many criminals now where nothing is too low or too extreme. It wasn't that long ago that an elderly lady was killed by a young woman she was trying to help inside New Street Station. They've tarted the place up but it has a really aggressive vibe from what it was like even 10 or 15 years ago. So many people and all stressed and jostling and on edge. Always the feeling of something about to kick off and you'd better not look at someone the wrong way.

Wasn't the teenage girl scout who was stabbed to death in Essex a few years ago also killed by someone as part of his gang initiation?

Do you have the statistics to prove those claims though? In other threads those claims get shut down as racism.

Yes it is a proven fact. You can google it

The bunch of frothing posters who pile onto every thread closing down discussion in exactly the same way this thread went at the beginning.

First we have accusations of not being a genuine poster or posting in bad faith

Then accusations of some sort of right wing agenda as they have the temerity to have consulted the Daily Mail at any point

After that racism will be either be inferred or outright claimed.

Then accusations of some sort of right wing agenda as they have the temerity to have consulted the Daily Mail at any point

Nothing wrong with consulting the Daily Mail - I look at that site myself on occasion.

But why would anyone only look at the DM, before starting a thread on MN, as the OP did, then declare that things had 'gone quiet' on such a serious crime?

Where you can be raped for being ‘non white’ alongside being raped for being ‘white and in a children’s home?’ Yep. It’s a disgusting world for sure. All done by men remember - of all colours and religions. Always a man.

You are right, always a man. But it wasn't always young white girls in care homes. Google Sikh girls groomed in the 80s, a movement called Shere Panjab highlighted it. Because of the concept of honour so much of this went unreported to authorities. This concept also made the young Sikh girls vulnerable to grooming as it was known they and their families would not report!

I’ve no idea. The point was that the inference was it HAD to be a non genuine poster who was trying to cause trouble. Then other people rocked up to say the same.

Ive posted genuine threads about real life situations and been accused of being a non-genuine poster in the first few pages just because people couldn’t believe that such a situation could exist. It’s troll hunting and I think it’s used to shut people down. It’s also bullying but one cares about that.

My comment didn’t negate yours as being valid.

morbidd · 09/11/2025 11:09

It was a completely unprovoked attack. Reminds me a bit of the other random attack in bham in September 2020 where that man just stabbed people at random in city centre.

This has scared the shit out of me, that poor woman literally just waiting for a bus. I was out in Birmingham last night and because I am now more worried about safety caught the train home from New St Station at 9.20, but entered from the other side so didn't see this.

There but for the grace of god we go. I really hope she makes a full recovery and he gets a decent sentence.

Women seem to be the easy pickings currently.

Exactly but the no backbone pm wont address it.

Unless we lock up all mentally ill people I really can't see how this particular kind of attack can be addressed. Years of underfunding of mental health services are coming home to roost - add into the mix drug addiction and homelessness, etc.

Westfacing · 09/11/2025 12:21

What do you think a PM Farage would do?

Whatnowsheila · 08/11/2025 23:26

Sorry op, not an immigrant. Better luck next time

No just another man harming us women.

And because he's black you don't care

EsmaCannonball · 09/11/2025 12:45

I can remember when Care in the Community was introduced. Anyone who thought that it was a bad idea - presenting itself as progressive and caring but actually putting the public at risk as a way to save money - was accused of stigmatising those with mental health problems.

Likely mentally ill.

This. I asked another PP what they suggest - to do anything “before” means locking up all mentally ill people.

Which is not feasible

Ah yes, you’ve nailed it. I was initially horrified at the attack but when they said the perp was black, I immediately thought, ‘great, that doesn’t matter then.’ 🫤

You obviously dont know about how things were before care in the Community came in.

JHound · 09/11/2025 12:54

I will say this story was super unnerving as I am in regularly in Brum and take a taxi right about where the woman was stabbed.

I definitely feel like I see much larger numbers of clearly mentally ill people wandering now (mainly men, sometimes women.)

I wonder what got them to that state.

Less focus on making sure men are allowed in women's changing rooms, that there are brown people in jobs just because they are brown and more about action.

JazzyBBBG · 09/11/2025 13:05

I did think it seemed quite quiet news wise on this but I think that's often the case at weekends.

Huh? What does any of that have to do with mentally ill men attacking people on the street?
