Why does Taylor Swift fall out with everyone?

I've never known anyone so famous for ditching people and then writing songs about them. Why is she so popular? She seems utterly toxic to me.

She’s a very shrewd businesswoman with a carefully calculated and highly controlled image. Apparently she even has waiters in restaurants sign NDAs. There is very little out there that her team doesn’t tightly control.

I imagine she’s keeping quiet about politics right now because it makes good business sense and maybe also for security reasons. As for Kelce I definitely wouldn’t assume he’s a Trump supporter and therefore his fiancée is now too just because his closest work colleague is. He has to toe a line with the team he plays for and his career success depends on him having a good relationship with the QB. I do think what he said about it being an honor no matter who the president is was potentially quite telling. He’ll also likely retire soon and may pursue more acting roles, and hollywood is typically quite left leaning…

Of course they don’t. But she uses FOMO marketing to make people feel like they’ll be missing out on something huge if they don’t buy them all. Making songs available for twenty four hours only to make sure people buy the latest variant

She can’t make sure of anything, because, again, nobody has to buy them.

And yes, she’s very rich… she’s earned it. She also donated huge amounts of money to food banks and charities in every single city she played on the Eras tour and gave life changing six figure bonuses to her backing performers, band and crew- everyone, even the truck drivers.

She was very much endorsing the democrats and is now strongly associated with multiple MAGA supporters.

That doesn’t mean she’s changed her politics, it just means she knows people who have different politics to her. For all you know she’s trying to convince them to see things differently.

35 is young for someone to be expected to give opinions on politics

Of course it isn't 😅

In December this year she'll be closer to 40 than 30.

BatchCookBabe · 17/10/2025 11:34

NoOneToTextWhenThePlaneLands · 17/10/2025 10:42

No, it’s not.

she is strongly and closely associated with multiple MAGA cult members. She is a multi billionaire which is an inherently unethical thing to be. She exploits her fans and uses marketing to take on other women in the industry because she’s obsessed with being the biggest and best thing.

Evidence please?

Compared to her net worth her donations are tiny. It’s like giving a tenner. Or work giving you a £100 bonus.

she exploits fomo marketing. It’s a fact and it’s a horrid tactic.

You clearly know nothing about her.
Judgy judgy much?

Are people not allowed to dislike her? Personally I much preferred folklore and evermore.

Sure, people are allowed to dislike her, but the things you’re pointing out as examples of her being an awful human being don’t really stand up do they. Yeah she’s written songs about her exes. She’s also written songs about miscarriage, her mother’s cancer battle, her grandmother’s death, she even wrote a song about a little boy who died of (I think) lymphoma and credited his mother as a co-writer of the song so she would receive royalties from the album sales.

But you go ahead and slate her as a greedy grasping bitch who just likes to slag people off and beat them down.

It wasn’t about miscarriage.

a few songs for nice things don’t erase a lot of what she’s done.

PatrickBaitman · 17/10/2025 11:38

Someone online called her «Americas oldest teenager», and I found that pretty fitting.

BatchCookBabe · 17/10/2025 11:39

boxofbuttons · 17/10/2025 11:18

Charli XCX did 22 variants of Brat. Olivia Rodrigo did 18 of her album. Releasing multiple variants is now fairly standard for artists wanting to break records/who have a big fanbase. I think it's pretty horrible for anyone to do it, but you can't really complain that arguably the biggest pop star in the world is doing so when there's precedent AND demand for it.

But, but, but, we are only allowed to bash Taylor Swift. No-one else. Like, how dare a privileged, beautiful, white woman be so successful and feisty and rich and have - GASP - opinions on ANYthing?! 😱

She should be a good iccle girl and be quiet, and #BEKIND. 😆

That 'someone online' sounds bitter and jealous. 😆

Tryingatleast · 17/10/2025 11:39

Peaknique

it is if she’s not a politician or hasn’t a job that keeps her informed on politics- do you think you could give an informed opinion to so many people around the world and know for sure you weren’t impacting them and their vote in the wrong way? She’s a singer not an expert. You’d expect someone in their 50s or 60s who has lived through different political eras to be able to possibly give informed, unbiased reasoning to the masses (and most couldn’t) not someone in their 30s

Pline · 17/10/2025 11:40

And then you’re going to have people who are going to say, ‘Oh, she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends’, and I think frankly that’s a very sexist angle to take. No-one says that about Ed Sheeran, no-one says that about Bruno Mars – they’re all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life… and no one raises a red flag there.”

Unlike Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars, Taylor is known for being extremely specific in her songwriting. She adds detailed personal references and recognisable details that directly point to her high profile exes. She invites and encourages the speculation as it’s profitable to do so . Then complains about it…

Whatever, I’m really not anti Taylor. I like plenty of her songs but she plays the game but complains when it comes back to bite her. I take issue with that. Plus she rinses her fans despite being a Billionaire already.

Not toxic just a person with boundaries and zero tolerance for any nonsense.

how surprising, the press write a load of negative stuff about a successful women,
invent fall outs and people lap it up - they are toxic blah blah blah 🙄

Thatstheheatingon · 17/10/2025 11:41

What's she's writing about is dissected and publicised.
People have always written songs about revenge or anger that someone has done you wrong. We just don't know who they were written about!
Plus, there's such a thing as imagination - just because a song starts with one idea doesn't mean every line in it is a factual version of what happened.

Yep this. The bitterness and jealousy towards Taylor Swift - from some - is borderline funny.

Does she? I am not in her demographic and don't listen to her music but I have a positive impression of her and she brings immense pleasure to very many people.

kelce (her fiance) and Mahomes (her new bestie) are both MAGA.

Since when? Kelce has supported Democrat causes and 'liked' posts supporting Kamala. he has never publicly supported Trump or MAGA.

She is not a MAGA supporter or a Nazi supporter. She's a Democrat who voted for Kamala and believes in women's rights, including the right to choose. She invited one Republican backstage for some reason. That does not mean she is MAGA. People are just making stuff up about her that is not true.

It’s very clearly about miscarriage. And I’ve yet to see you give a proper example of “what’s she’s done” that is actually bad… She’s a shrewd businesswoman- that’s allowed. She’s ambitious and wants to break records- that’s allowed. She writes songs about her own real life experiences- that’s allowed. She’s very rich- that’s allowed. She’s engaged to someone who plays on the same team as someone who is married to someone whose political views don’t align with her own- that’s allowed.
